What the Moneo Affaire Can Teach Babalú

I am almost inclined to leave the last post up indefinitely since it has attracted 800 page views in less than 24 hours. There is obviously an ocean of ill-will towards George Moneo at Babalú, and since Val Prieto does not allow it to be vented there, it overflows into other channels. The Babalunians are still afraid to use their real names or monikers for fear of retaliation but their anger is real if masked.

It was in response to that widespread disaffection that Babalú has been forced against all its instincts except that of self-preservation to modify its most radical positions and allow a modicum of dissonance in its proverbial echo-chamber. No longer do we read at Babalú that Cubans on the island are cowards who need to be rendered in a pressure cooker or immersed in a bloodbath. No more are enemies of Cuban freedom like Barack Obama celebrated at Babalú while true friends like John McCain are raked over the coals. The obsessions of a few no longer frustrate the exertions of the many on behalf of Cuba. Those who lost their way have been set on the right path again, and those who would not follow that path have been told that they are free to follow any other elsewhere but not to mislead others under Babalú's banner.

If Val & Henry would also renounce their arbitrariness and deal fairly with all their readers rather than insult, alienate and finally silence them, if by their conduct they would attest to the sincerity of their attachment to pluralism and free speech, I should consider the year that I have spent admonishing them not to have been wasted and dedicate my own time to something more constructive than pointing out and restraining their puerilities.

It is not up to me but up to them. If Babalú can prove that it has really changed for the better and for the duration, if its leaders can follow the path set by its new recruits who are not only well-informed but dignified and civil, then my services will no longer be required because there will no follies to chronicle, errors to expose or unfairness to decry.

si pero te pregunto porque tu has cogido todo esto como un personal matter. Tanto te afecto? why is it that you have to continue judging others bro, no me respondistes la pregunta que te hice de roque

Well said Manuel.

I think it's high time someone stood up to them. They should stick to the facts and issues.

It is not a question of judging others (though we all have that right) but of upholding the truth and fair play. It is because too many Cubans failed to do so both before and after 1959 that we find ourselves where we are today.

I have long ago dismissed the personal affront that caused me to create this blog. I have no malice myself towards anyone except Castro and his henchmen and can absorb the malice of others without it poisoning me.

When Babalú is what it should be, then it will have no need of me.

RCAB has been a service to Babalu.
If Babalu had allowed open discussion this blog would not have attained a following. This blog has thrived because there were many that were tired of the antics of a few gatekeepers at Babalu. The arrogance and bullying of a few plus their temporary loss of focus was killing an otherwise good blog. They have a good group of writers, especially the new crop and if they can keep their mission statement in focus and stop the Stalinist attacks, then Babalu owes MaT a world of thanks.

el unico stalisnista que yo conozco ahora mismo se llama Machado Ventura

I hope the Babalunians really are on their way to a transition for the better, if they are, I hope they realize how indebted they are to you, for your prodding and constructive critisism, maybe Babalu will go back to it's roots blogging about Cuba.

On another note if you ever decide to close this blog, I hope you will open another, I look forward to reading you everyday, I would sorely miss you.

MAT,
yesterday while watching FOX news (yes Virginia, we have access to FOX news in South America) I saw something that caught my eye and gave me a feeling of revulsion.
It seems Mr. Obama has a good friendship with a Mr. William Ayers, a terrorist convicted of attacks on the Pentagon during the 1970's a memeber of the terrorist group the Weather Underground and who declared war on the Govt. of the USA.
This piece of news together with the endorsement of Louis Farrakhan and Obama's church awarding him the Man of The Year prize should be enough to ring alarms everywhere. But so far this guy seems to be covered in Teflon and nothing sticks to him.
The Che and the Cuban flag incident already was disturbing, but now this new development on top of the Che/flag affaire, is
proof for me that this guy has a secret agenda that most Americans seem to be unaware of. That a Democratic aspiring candidate and almost sure winner of the nomination, seems to be engaged and consorting with folks who advocate the destruccion of the USA and have clear antisemite and antiwhite positions should be enough to awaken people tp the danger, but nothing has happened. Where is the media in all of this? Why is it that only FOX news seems to be worried about these Obama's connections?
And now for the last question:
Does Fantomas still thinks that "Obama rocks" (his own words) after all of these things have surfaced?

There are so many tricks that you can teach to an old poodle. A cross between a poodle and pitbull, as Mr. J.L. Moneo fancies himself, is called a pitboodle, and shares the lack of intelligence of both breeds. For a lapdog, he already worked fine. He has not been restored to the list of writers, so it might be that he has to learn a few difficult tricks before "good doggy" is said again.

Sorry but the poodle is one of the smartest breed of dogs, easy to teach easy to learn, I know my sister has one, we are always amazed at his antics, I don't believe there are any stupid dogs, just stupid owners.

Well thank God you are not voting this time around. That is one less vote for Obbie.

"Obbie Sucks" Farinas

MAT,
a new hostage syndrome was just discovered at Babalu by one of its contributors. It is called the Helsinki Syndrome.
Gee, and I always thought it was the Stockholm Syndrome. I guess I was misinformed.
As posted by Gusano at Babalu:

"Some develop the “Helsinki Syndrome” and begin to identify with the hostage taker. (there’s a lot of that going around in Miami lately)"

Babalu Blog, where you can get the latest new developments and syndromes that refer to hostages.
