Notable & Long In Coming: Civil War Erupts At Babalú

"Well now, this is progress. We've [i.e. Babalú] evolved from a blog that was Pro-Cuba, to a blog that was Anti-McCain and Pro-Chebama, and now to a blog that is stridently anti-Catholic, including historically erroneous references to the Black Legend and citations [from] Revelations [about the 'Whore of Babylon']. Nutty . . . nutty. . . nutty. May the (non-denominational) God help us all."Little Gator, "He Came, He Saw and He Praised the Murderous Dictatorship" [comment], Babalú, February 26, 2006

Apparently, Babalú continues in disarray over the sudden and unexplained ouster of George Moneo. Both Val and Henry are too busy trying to stop their satellites from availing themselves of the schism at Babalú to sever ties with it, to devote much time or energy to censoring commenters. If George's self-described "itchy finger" were still at work, Little Gator's comment would been instantaneously deleted. It may still be along with the controversial thread; but, for now, at least, it constitutes a public rebuke of Babalú on its own pages that has been hinted at before but never so forcibly expressed before.

Is Babalú an all-purpose blog, as George Moneo intimated yesterday in his last post, or does it have a distinctively Cuban character which has become obscured and even negated by its recent attacks on the anti-Castro McCain and advocacy for the pro-Castro Obama?

A war is being fought for the soul of Babalú.

RCAB is proud to have hired the first volley in that war nearly one-year ago and hundreds since.

Babalu sems to be coming apart at the seams. Wow , I wonder what the heck happened there? Too many egos competing? A coup d'etat? Inquiring minds want to know!

MaT,
As a Babalu reader for a few years now. I believe you were treated unfairly at Babalu. This was their loss and our benefit - as we got RCAB. Things became only increasingly worse this past year. The Erlichman and Halderman of Babalu (Henry and George)increasingly became bullies with the commenters and started on their own agendas and politics. Finally, they seem to have ruffled enough feathers or the "right feathers" so that Val found it necessary to weed out the crap. Hopefully,Babalu will go back to the issue of Cuba and allow divergent thought. Hopefully.

Don't be a hypocrite or bigger hypocrite. No one is celebrating George's departure more than you. No more trips to the woodshed for you. Aren't you happy or do you like being taken to the woodshed?

Fantomas was joyfully and prematurely celebrating the demise of RCAB just a few weeks ago because of the lack of commenters. Now his friends and fellow partners in the BUCL disaster, seemed to be fighting among themselves. No amount of insults (a "bootlicker" was one of those insults) coming from the Babalu editors is enough for him to see the light. One cannot expect much from those who refuse to see the truth, but then "The Fanto" also cheers for Obama, so one should not expect peaches from an elm tree.

Lo UNICO QUE HE DICHO WHOEVER WINS SHPULD HAVE A 21 CENTURY POLICY TOWARDS CUBA. nOT A COLD WAR MENTALITY. nEGOTIATION IN THE THE TABLE ..DANDO Y DANDO ..TU ME DAS YO TE DOY..RAUL LIBERA , OBAMA LEVANTA..ENTIENDES AHORA MUCHACHON

Ai alguien tiene duda pueden votar por Ralh Nader ..

Fantomas,
I don't see 3 or 4 commenters like you mentioned. In fact, Babalu has the same amount of commenters, and yet you never said it was ready to fold. The same names in Babalu appear over and over. Get your facts straight. And judging by your comments about Obama you seem to endorse his candidacy. VErytime I read your comments here you seem to be enthralled by his performance and his beliefs. He will do nothing for Cuba except meet with Raul Castro without any conditions. s taht what you call a good policy? Let's sit around a table and sing Kumbaya hold hands and all is well, while Cuabns are denied basic freedoms while he sits with Raul talking? A little more substance will go a long way to show his positions but not this nonsense of "I will sit with our enemies and talk". That in itself, is nonsense. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Fariñas no importa quien salga Obama o Mc Cain ...Acaso no escuchstes a Raul?

Fantomas,
what the heck does your comment have to do with what I commented about Barack Hussein Obama? Nothing, if I read your comments correctly.
You are putting your faith in Obama's ability to wrest from Raul Castro the changes of a free press, release of prisoners of conscience, and free elections. These things, Castro II will never agree to, because they will spell the end of their regimne and they very well know it. So Obama's premise that he will sit down with Raul and talk, and then by some kind of magic and hope (yes, much hope), he will achieve these things to come true, are pie in the sky. Cuba's regime is buying time, and waiting for a more favorable White House occupant who will obviate these little "pecadillos" of them, and grant them what they want: and end to the embargo and grant them credits and official recognition. In Obama, I think they have the perfect candidate to achieve these goals. Now if you are comfortable and find nothing wrong with that, keep cheering for Obama, because your trip to Santigao to your old neighbourhood just got a cold shower. But you can always hope, I guess, since hope is a commodity one finds in great quantities in the Obama camp. I like to be a little more realistic, having known a little more about the nature of the beast, literally.

The pale color stands for death! I still believe that this is the horse of the AntichristI repeat, one fourth of all the people living at this time are going to be killed by one of the 4 ways mentioned above But the word 'offering' brings out the aspect of something that is given freely 'for the honor of God or for the poor'This is illegal in many states but other groomers still use them
