Val Plays the Fool to Hide the Villain

There are many ways to evade guilt. One is to embrace it not as a reality but as a hyperbole. This is what Val has done. It was impossible for him to deny his actions or to take back his words. These were so toxic that even Val feared to handle them again. A better mind would have found it difficult to maneuver this minefield. Val was literally paralyzed for 4 days, unable to move in one direction or the other. He tells us that he was so occupied picking the tile for his kitchen floor that his own name did not ring in his ears though it was on everybody's lips (if not on their blogs). Nobody at Babalú knew what to do. Some told him to ignore the accusation. Others advised him not to ignore it. And others, very few, were actually disturbed by Val's conduct but in the supercharged atmosphere of their deliberations they chose to maintain a discreet silence for fear the many would turn on them at a time when a scapegoat was severely wanted.

When Henry announced last night in a deleted post that Val would be answering his accusers next morning even he did not know what shape Val's long-awaited answer would take. Who would have supposed, even Henry, that Val would be so cold-hearted as to mock -- yes, mock -- Killcastro's anguish and his family's danger. What he did not do, however, was deny that he was a chivato (government snitch). In fact, he did not even dare to use that word or address his specific actions on Killcastro's blog. Instead, he chose to present himself as a Castroite James Bond, which no mortal on earth could ever imagine him to be. Even as Fu Manchu Val would be a hard sell.

By making fun of his own incompetance, (mis)casting himself as a double-nought spy, of all things, Val hoped to defray the real imputations against him. Not, of course, that he is a trained spy and international playboy, but, rather, that he is a warped and vindictive man who saw the opportunity to destroy someone who cast a long shadow over him and took it.

As you well know, there were many who appropriated Longfellow's moniker for their own ends at Miami's Cuban Connection. We cannot be certain that the real Longfellow ever said such a thing.

And since when, fantomas, did you become a "hardliner?" Not many "hardliners" supporting Barack Obama.

Another great insightful analysis. Only one correction though. Val the "chivato," and Henry Gomez are worse than fools.

Their "outing" of KC dishonors every Cuban who is buried in America, Cuba, or lost forever at sea, that has fought for a free Cuba during the last 40 plus years!!

It is indeed a sad day that the loss of their "unearned" reputation may be the only forth coming punishment they recieve!!

KC,

I thought i remembered in other blogs that Henry Gomez said that he actually has burned the American flag in protest. So now Henry true communist leanings are started to be exposed!!

Anonymous said...

Same thing with Henry wanting Elian return to a communist prison. Same with Henry wanting that little girl returned to Cuba. Yes, Henry you and Val have been exposed for what you are, and that is commie rat-faced bastards.
Hey fantomas, are you getting paid by the communist government? You still have yet to answer my question.

Guys, give it up. Your 15 minutes of fame have come and gone. You are trying to milk this incident to the extreme trying to gain publicity and are looking absolutely foolish.
You cannot accept the fact that you are back to your 3 regulars.
You are becoming a real joke with all the crap about the hundreds, or is it thousands? of people currently in danger in Cuba. Give it a rest for your own sake :)

Anon,

As long as KC and his family remains in danger, i expect KC to continue updating the Soflo blogisphere. As there are too many forgotten Cubans languishing in Cuba's prisons because of the exact "chivato-type" actions such as Val Prieto's.

15 minutes vs possible years in prison for KC's family members, doesnt sound very equal to me. But then again only a "chivato" and their supporters would try to equate the two.

Hey Anon of 8:55...no it's not a 15 minute thing. This incident wherein clearly Val Prieto has acted as a chivato with regards to KC is decidedly messed up in a major major way. Val and his group play at being some kind of cliche Cubans, but they are sorely lacking in real 'cubania.' And they are actually quite clueless about everyday life in Cuba. These things in themselves would not even be significant if it weren't for the fact that the Babalu blog is sometimes referenced by the MSM as the voice of anti-Castro exiles. Yikes, I don't want to be represented by immature ignorant apes. Ultimately, this is not just about this or other harmful idiocies perpetrated by Val, Henry et al., but about a greater vision with regards to Cuba's future--Cuban, not Cuban American, not Americanized, not Republican, not Democrat, not anything that ignores Cuba's sovereingty and its cultural idiosyncracies. We can love both the USA and Cuba, but they are two distinct and separate nations. This is fundamental. At any rate, it's obvious that Val and company have either lost their bearings or never had them in the first place in this regard. I can only agree with KC as he stated in a previous post here: "...the whole macho man camp shit is way too American football for my taste..."

Yeah, Anon 8:55, we gave one too many 15 minutes of fame chance to Prieto and his "campers".
Wonder about something, if you must.... Why is that the MSM refers always to the Prieto-led gaggle as the representatives of the Cuban exiles?
Don't have an answer?
Let me answer the riddle for you:
- they are perceived as the MSM wants the WHOLE Cuban American community pigeon holed, as a bunch of loud, crass, knee jerk reactionaries, clueless about Cuba, Cuban rafter despising bigots.
That's their merit in the eyes of the press and tv shows.
They are also the new castroists of opposite sign, the other side of the fascist coin, they suppress liberties of expression and thought, they support the deportation of refugees, they oppose anything that allows Cubans to take a fresh breath of air in the middle of their situation, and they want to come back as "the true Cubans and liberators", in detriment of the rights of the Cuban people who have been suffering under the boot for almost 50 years.
Now go take your cold shower and prepare for your electroshock.

Actually, this struck a nerve with me. As this is very true. Val, Henry have never served to educate non-Cubans about Cuban oppression. Rather, they engage in brutal repression anywhere they go. Often this repession is laced with name-calling, indirect and direct threats, including "outing" of anti-fidel bloggers on the shores of America.

Which begs the question, if these "chivatos" are the voice of the Cuban-exiles. Then what does that say about those exiles who march in-lock step with said "chivatos."

You can criticize Val Prieto, Henry or anyone that you want. That's not the problem.
What is wrong is to make up this farce about all these people being in danger because someone mentioned this guy's first name. That is pretty stupid and make you guys feel stupid as well for thinking that anyone would fall for that crap.
Instead of being perceived as sincere critics, you are perceived as being envious of another blog that happens to be more popular than yours.
Do whatever you want, I was simply giving you my 2 cents in case that you were not aware that your 15 minutes were up.

No sir, what is wrong is to stupidly dismiss the fact that Val publicly betrayed a trust by revealing a name that he knew may involve serious consequences for KC and his family.

As far as me being interested in who has the bigger blog. Well you can be comforted to know that i really dont give a fat-rats ass whose blog is bigger. I choose to post here because MAT appears to be the "only" Cuban-related blogger that has embraced and celebrates free-speech.

I also find it interesting to note that your blog Babulu has recently seen a sharp decline, much like the American stock market. And your paranoid reaction, only serves to amplify what is already self-evident. And that is Babulu is crumbling from within. Like most communist-run endeavors, Babulu is in its death-throws. A shell of a blog, a reminder of what could of been, but/for the "chivatos" who were never satisfied with their own kingdom. But felt the need to conquer others in order to force strict obedience to their school of thought.

Anon: You can criticize Val Prieto, Henry or anyone that you want

Even this sentence subtly betrays your communist-type thinking. I dont "need" your permission to criticize Val and Henry.

Actually, i am not offering criticiism. As that would involve seeking to help them become better human beings. That is not what i am doing here. No, what i am doing is called "SAVAGING." Much like a shark does a seal on a National Georgraphic show!!

Mad asshole, you seem to be out of control. what's wrong my boy? I simply said that your 15 minutes were over. I understand that you have no other subject to cover here, and need to be milking this incident all the way, but you simply are looking foolish. It is up to you. Do you know anything about Cuba that you can discuss?

Obtaining justice is foolishness to you? What else do you consider foolish? Truth? Decency? Honor? All these have a shelf life longer than 15 minutes.

You are the one who has overstayed your alloted time in the spotlight and are now so desperate for publicity that you gladly receive it even in 10 second segments.

And how is the business of Cuba going for you?

I guess not so good lately.

Anonymous said...

Manuel, that's the question that I should ask you? What have you done for Cuba since you began this blog? Absolutely nothing, zilch, nada.
Of maybe 1,000 posts here, at least 95% have to do with Val Prieto and Babalu. Man you are obsessed.
Maybe if you begin to post things that are interesting and relevant to the freedom of Cuba, you'll have more visitors and wont need to envy other blogs so much.
Why don't you try it? You can't do any worse than you are doing now.

One thousand original essays are preferable to 7000 cut-and-paste jobs.

I have devoted less than 30 percent of my writings here to Babalú. The bulk, of course, are devoted to Cuba. For Cuba, always, "la primera palabra."

But even my Babalú posts are lessons in civics not only for the hapless Babalunians but all Cubans. Indeed, all humans.

You seem to be under the erroneous impressions that this blog wants for readers. Look around you. Look at yourself.

Anonymous said...

Manuel, again, how can you talk about copy and paste when you spend most of your time copying and pasting here everything that is said at Babalu? You,my friend, are the champion of the copy and paste blogging crowd. Without Babalu, this blog would be even more boring than it is now. What would you talk about?
You seem to be an intelligent man, but unfortunately you are obsessed with Val Prieto and the rest of the Babalu contributors. The funny thing is that most of the time they ignore you and that seems to even get you more obsessed.
Honestly, I am sure that you can write some interesting stuff about Cuba every once in a while, that would make this blog more attractive.
Forget about Val and Henry and concentrate in helping the Cuban people find their freedom. I am sure that it would make you feel better, and your readership may even increase from the 3 or 4 regulars that you have now.

Manuel A.Tellechea said...

Anonymous (Val):

Of course, I quote the Babalunians. How better could I expose them than with their own words? But I also write 1000 of my words to one of theirs.

What they do is quote entire articles from the MSM and then frame them with a dozen words of their own. There are exceptions, of course, but that is generally their modus operandi. It is not mine.

Anonymous said...

So, if they copy and paste from the MSM and you copy and paste from them, the only difference is that you're copying second hand. That is even worse.
Can't you come up with an original post without copying and pasting or mentioning Babalu? I bet that you cannot. I honestly suggest that you visit a psychiatrist. You have been infected with acute Babalutis
