"I'm a Cocksucker, Don't Ya Know?" Yes We Do, Val.

[You will all remember Val Prieto's famous deleted post "I'm a Cocksucker, Don't You Know?" I've alluded to it on several occasions and even quoted from it. Val originally posted it on Babalu on April 2, 2007 and deleted it within three hours because others (not me) told him it was the most foolish thing they had ever read. Guess what? He has re-posted it after I quoted the first paragraph in a recent post on this blog as Val's "Daily Affirmation." I guess once he learned I had retained a copy there was no sense in pretending he never wrote it and so he posted it again. Because the first time around Val deleted it within 3 hours of posting it, I saw no need to refute it. But now that he has posted it again and made the subject topical once more, I will answer him. Perhaps this time he'll know enough to keep his mouth shut. He could have spared himself so much embarrassment from the onset if he had just done that].
I'm a cocksucker, dont ya know.
by Val Prieto (annotated by Manuel A. Tellechea)

One would think that after nearly four years of blogging day in and day out about Cuba [that's 1460 days] and the reality of same [of what? Blogging 1460 days about Cuba?], that after nearly four years of taking on leftists, fidelistas, communists, and other assorted idiots, [didn't you want to take them on?] that after four years of arguing with and about the MSM, [have you actually argued with the MSM?] politicos and assorted officials, [you've never argued with politicians except those that take no cognizance of you, but never with our "don't-rock-the-boat" Cuban-American congressmen and senators] that after four years of busting my ass from sun up to sundown, [which you wouldn't have done, otherwise?] that after four years of being called a fascist, an asshole, a right wing extremist, close-minded, intransingent and a slew of other ephiteths, [I think you mean "epithets"] that after four years of death threats and picking up coconuts and dead chickens from the front of my home, [why do you "pick up" the evidence? why don't you pick up the phone and call the police?] all because of and on behalf of my work for the freedom of Cuba, [a fair assumption, but an assumption nonetheless; it could just be that your neighbors hate you] I would have at least earned a modicum of respect [is a "modicum of respect" all the respect you want?]. Not a reverence, [oh, is reverence what you think you deserve?] , mind you, [mind yourself] nor some shrine dedicated to me, [like the Virgin of Charity's, perhaps?] but just a simple nod, if not for my personal opinions, [certainly not] but [you mean "then," not "but"] for the thousands and thousands of hours work depicted here on the pages and archives of this blog and the thousands and thousands of hours spent behind the scenes in a humble attempt to something for the island of my birth and the people therein. [But didn't you say that the Estefans have done more for the cause of Cuba than all of us put together? Then why are you taking credit for "thousands" of hours of work when surely they must have done millions (at least)?].

But no. I am called a cocksucker by someone who is supposedly my own and who is supposedly on the same side of the argument as that of this blog. A cocksucker. [Why? Because of what you said about the Estefans, criticism of whom you expressly forbade on your blog upon penalty of expulsion].

For four years I have been arguing with pro-dialogue Cuban-Americans who always claim that this Cuban-American community behaves like rabid fascists, knee-jerk reactionaries and intransignet extremists who turn on their own if the opinions expressed by others aren't on a par with that of the "community." "Nonsense," Ive always said. You need look no further than the archives and writings of this blog to prove that this is not true. Some of us dont turn on our own [yeah, just the "rabid fascists, knee-jerk reactionaries and intransigent extremists" which you claim exist in our ranks and to which you imply I belong]. Some of us dont shit where we eat [certainly not you. Although whatever made you think you could eat off the Estefans' plate, I'll never know]. Some of us prefer to not air our dirty laundry, however tempting that may be, so it will not be detrimental to the community as a whole [you mean like not airing your dirty laundry exactly as you are doing right now?].

Manuel Tellechea, who has always been afforded a voice on this blog, who, despite much commentary where this blogger has disagreed with wholeheartedly [the only times you ever disagreed with me was when I attacked Bush and the Coast Guard for the "Wet Foot/Dry Foot" policy and when I questioned the motives of the Estefans in embracing Santana] , has never been debased nor denigrated nor publicly scorned here by myself or by others [should I have expected to be "debased, denigrated or publicly scorned" for my opinions on Bush and the Estefans? Wasn't booting me enough?]. It is not that I have not disagreed with him, nor found his arguments to be less than realistic and sane, nor found them to be detrimental to the cause, I have many a time. [Wow! My arguments were "less than realistic and sane" and "detrimental to the cause" to boot, and yet you never took me on!]. And I have vehemently disagreed with him on many occassions [still in petu] , but never, never, have I taken him to task publicly nor with disdain and merciless criticism and slanderous accusation [again, you want brownie points for this?]. Never, ever, has this son of a welder [what does that have to do with anything except to sow class hatred?] referred to an "intellectual and moral bastion" such as Manuel as a cocksucker or anything to that effect [I have never given you cause to].

I was brought up with respect and taught to respect others, whether their opinions were diametrically opposed to mine [the only people whose opinions are "diametrically opposed" to yours are the fidelistas. Do you "respect" them?].

Yet Manuel Tellechea chose my Shame post, where I stated my opinion and feelings upon realizing that my community had perhaps jumped the gun vis-a-vis the Estefans/Carlos Santana issue [no, you jumped the gun in defending them], and in which post I not only spoke from the heart [with all the insincerity you could muster], but had the fortitude and integrity [praising yourself again?] to immediately admit I was wrong when same was proven [What else were you going to do after the Estefans made you look like a fool? Nevertheless, you continued your proscription against anyone criticizing the Estefans on your blog upon penalty of expulsion], to not only begin a new blog [as is my right] but to call me out as a "cocksucker" [Not exactly right. I didn't call you a "cocksucker" but did say that you had participated in the biggest act of cocksucking in the history of Cuban-American blogging. Still, I must admit that cocksuckers are as cocksuckers do].

The irony of this is that through his very first post, the mere fact that he not only self-righteously criticized my post, denigrated my name and labeled me a cocksucker, Manuel pretty much confirmed the criticisms I expressed in the Shame post to begin with. [My first post on the RCAB consisted of reproducing your "I Hang My Head in Shame" post and annotating it. You denigrated your own name by writing it]. He shat on his own [you mean I shat on you] and publicly debased the person [didn't you mean to say "exalted person," or is that implied?] that has been fighting it out here on the internet on behalf of Cuba the longest and with the most exposure [the longest, no; with the most exposure, probably]. All because I refused to shit on Gloria and Emilio Estefan, however meritted it may have been or still be, in public. [Well, you finally got over those scrupples 4 months later, when you allowed the Estefans to be called "traitors" on your blog. I guess they did not quite fulfill your expectations of them in the interim: no more phone calls and Emilio even reneged on his invitation to "do" lunch with you].

Mind you, Mr. Tellechea was not privy to any correspondence between myself and the Estefans, nor was he privy to my actions behind the scenes nor was he privy to my heated conversations with Emilio Estefan and other members of his organization. [If you had wanted to make me or your other readers at Babalu privy to any of that you could have. But you didn't because you promised the Estefans you wouldn't and your first allegiance was to them].

I am fallible just like any other human being is [you mean you are not the pope], and I have made many mistakes in my tenure on Babalu as in life [you forgot to add "as every other human being has done"], but I have always been true to my principles and my convictions and I would have been dishonest with you all and myself, had I not proffered my sentiments on the issue. [No one objected to you "proferring your sentiments." What I objected to was your refusal to allow others to proffer theirs without threat of expulsion]. While my position may not have been the popular one, nor necessarily, in hindsight, the correct one, had I not expressed my opinion honestly it would have been an affront to my integrity [and a credit to your commonsense].

Because, in the long run, it's all about integrity, Manuel. And this cocksucker still holds his head up high. I wish I could say the same for you. [What? Cocksucker without quotation marks? You are calling yourself a cocksucker and one who holds his head high about being a cocksucker? You leave me speechless and I leave you exactly where I found you — with your mouth wide open].

Lol Manuel did he post this today? I know you have never called him a cocksucker, it was him that called himself that, I loved what you wrote in red...lol, guess he's feeling blue about this your blog, well he started it! he should have bit his tongue four months ago, all of this would have been avoided, he can thank himself for it.

Manuel I went to that link at the bottom of your blog, I have a feeling that's Libertadparacuba, as you probably know that blog is no more, I went there and left a comment, what an ass hole, and a chicken shit, whomever that is, don't let it upset you Manuel, it's not worth it

Manuel A.Tellechea said...

Upset me? On the contrary. It's easier to have them making asses of themselves. Saves me the trouble. Babalú will continue to be the focus of my attention. This distraction will not distract me beyond today.

Manuel,
I have read some of the posts related to this and I may not be as informed as many of you are. But I just wanted to say that the Internet makes these matters worse. When people cannot meet face to face to disscuss their differences things can get out of hand. Now,I know that we cannot do this here, we are separated by hundreds if not thousands of miles. I just wish that things were different. When you look someone in the eyes things can change. One can make false accusations behind the screen of a computer not realizing that they are foolish.

It seems the only one that sucks cocks around here is the one who constantly talks about it. The insecure and oh so envious Manuel A. Tellechea. What's with the cock obsession? I mean really. Aren't there any rest areas in your neck of the woods where you can relieve your desire for cock talk?

Manuel A.Tellechea said...

Please note that it was Val who referred to himself as a "cocksucker." In this, at least, I must defer to his opinion.

Did you laugh good and hard? Because you are always laughing at Val. If he only knew! But, of course, you have his daftness to assist you in concealing your duplicity.

You will find on this blog everything that you will need to understand the ongoing feud between Val & Company and me. No Spark notes are necessary.

You seem to me someone with intelligence. Re-read this post — which presents both sides, Val's and mine — and then ask me any specific questions that you may have.

Feel free to ask Val at Babalú, too, although he will certainly delete your comments.

Yes, sometimes what you read on the internet isn't true. And sometimes, of course, it is.

I was reading the blog (babalu) when all of this happened and was a very confused when Val booted Manuel. After all, Val could have talked to the E$tefan$ and still let Manuel express his opinion.

I wrote to Val asking why he had done this and never received a reply.

I stopped reading the blog for a while and when I went back on I saw a few denigrating remarks aimed at Manuel. I still read the blog sometimes, but have lost all respect for Val and Henry. I was also embarrassed for Val with his “hold my head in shame” post.

It really is a shame that Val and Henry can’t take any criticism. The blog would be better if they grew up.

Vana said...

Wow Cari you are one of us, you understand what went on there, Manuel was treated terribly by Val, he threw Manuel out of Babalu, if as you say, they were a little more open minded, they would have learned a lot from Manuel, their loss is our gain

Manuel A.Tellechea said...

Cari:

I appreciate greatly your kind words. I know that I had many friends among the readers of Babalú during the time I was a fixture there. Many of these eventually found this blog, but remain reluctant to comment here for fear of retaliation from Val & Henry. There presence here, even if silent, is always welcome.

I have become convinced over time that my expulsion from Babalú was not a casual act but a deliberate and premeditated one.

It seems I was developing too great a following at Babalú, which, rather than please Val because it meant more activity and additional readers, caused him to grow jealous of my popularity and conspire to get rid of me. First, however, he tried to co-op me by asking me to write a guest editorial for Babalú, which I declined. This was too much for him. He might have been able to endure being outshoned by me a little longer, but being shunned by me he could not tolerate. The next day he booted me from Babalú under the pretext that I had violated his ban on criticism of the Estefans.

Clearly, he felt threatened and acted out of fear — the fear that I was, unintentionally on my part, taking over his blog. I was indeed a catalyst for discussion there. Whenever I nested on one thread, the other commenters followed me and my own independence emboldened others to follow my example.

Val realized quickly the error in judgment which he had made in booting me and rescinded my expulsion within 20 minutes. But it was too late. I saw what the future held: more expulsions.

My departure from Babalú resulted in the ghost town which you see today. They tried their best to revive interest lately by dusting off the Estefan controversary again, but, without me, it went nowhere. Babalú continues its decline despite such measures as doubling its corps of contributors.

Interest has subsided in proportion to its credibility and I doubt whether Babalú will ever recover from its self-inflicted wounds.

Meanwhile, I am happier than ever, and thank Val, in restrospect, for forcing me by his actions to open my own blog.

Vana said...

I'm telling you that is libertadparacuba who opened that blog, I can tell by the way he writes, what his name is I have no clue, but it has to be a Babalunian, he fooled us before with that other blog, the way he went after you, tells me a lot, the way he intersects those(laughs) he did it here before, it has to be him.

I have no doubt that Val was involved in the creation of that blog whatever it's called (that's how lightly it lies on my mind). If he had not sponsored it on Babalú, it would have been a dead letter. It very much is a dead letter anyway. It is, quite simply, a disaster and will likely continue as one for another week before its creators lose interest in it as they do not seem to be capable of a sustained effort even if being humorless is the only challenge they set for themselves.

Manuel, I'm trying to catch up with everything. Back in April I was a reader at babalu and enjoyed reading your comments. During the gloria fiasco I noticed that your comments stopped. I thought that a fall out between you and Val was the reason. But I did not realize the extent of what had happened until Tocororo died and I found your blog mentioned by Killcastro. Here is what I have gathered:
1. I can't find a reason why you should have been kicked off the blog.
2. You added value to the blog, it is their loss
3. I never understood Val's "shame" post.
4. Now you have your own blog and I'm happy for you.

I believe that what I found is a recap of what your other readers have already found.

PS sometimes I will log onto your blog and stay there a while: I get pulled away and can't finish reading or writing.

Manuel A.Tellechea said...

BBL:

You have made all the right conclusions and I congratulate you upon it. Sadly, others who are directly or indirectly involved in this matter do not have your insight or ability to pinpoint the essentials. That is the reason that so many still continue to be taken in by Val & Henry's shtick. But the truth is coming to the surface, which is their greatest nightmare; and there is nothing that they can do to stop it.

Thank-you for your imput again and please be no stranger to these threads. Your contribution is appreciated by all of us.

Manuel and Vana,
I venture to say it may be Rick from Stuck on the Palmeto. Why? First his style of writing. Second as Vana pointed out, the laughter part and third, and the most important clue, his obsession with Manuel's age and calling him an old man.
I am not Columbo, Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot, but....everything points to Rick. Everything leads me to believe is him, because his behaviour and character are almost a dead give away. Time will tell.

Rick said...

Manny...I mean vana....no, wait, I mean agustin.....

Believe it or not, I don't have the time to execute or deal with whatever it is you are referring to.

Manny, if you all don't know, is a middle aged man who likes to represent himself as someone considerably older in his 80's and 90's. I'll continue to call him on it when he lies. It's just that simple.

Rick said...

And BTW, Manny....don't ever say you don't delete comments here. You deleted my comment for "On Babalú's Disdain for the New Refugees" which questioned your representation that you come from a different generation that Val Prieto. You don't come from a different generation, Manny, and you know it. You're about the same age as Val, and you know it, Manny.

So you say that you have nothing to be afraid of. So why did you delete my comment?

And, yeah, I'm creating a screenshot of this one, coward.

Rick:

I don't believe you are the author of the new blog in question (what the hell is the name of it?). You are a better prose stylist; your humor is more sophisticated than sophomoric; and, of course, your English is not informed by a knowledge of Spanish. I would expect that if you undertook such a "waste of time," as you say, that you would do a better job.

Your past comments were not deleted, but transferred to "The Madhouse," where they were duly answered.

I am surprised that you are unaquainted with The Madhouse, being, as you are, a regular reader of this blog.

Vana said...

Lmao, Manuel someone is not aquainted with the Madhouse, well some need to be, because they belong there...lol

Vana said...

By the way Rick, I'm Vana and NO I'm not Manuel, there's no way Manuel could pose as anyone, his way of writing and expressing himself would give him away, in a New York minute.

Vana said...

What is this obsession people have with Manuel's age, who cares how old anyone is, I don't, I enjoy his writing, I don't give a shit if hes 20 or 100, seems a lot of people are concerned with his age, Get Over IT!

Manuel A.Tellechea said...

Vana:

Rick will never get over it. And I, of course, will never satisfy his pathological curiosity about it. He knows my identity because I do not conceal it from him or anyone. He and his partner Alex of Stuck on the Palmetto do conceal theirs, which is to say that they conceal the most essential fact about themselves without which nothing else can be known. And yet they dare accuse me of being less than candid about my age when they are candid about nothing concerning their identities.

And so we have the curious spectacle of a man who is little better than Anonymous accusing one who uses his real name of not being transparent enough!

Manuel: Why doesn't it surprise me that you are unable to discern the difference between your lying and my posting using my first name, my place of residence, and my age? The only thing I don't use is my last name. And I'm not lying about anything.

You also ask me why your age is a big deal. It's a big deal when it's used to create an internet persona that is direct contradiction to who you really are. Many people believe you're an 80 or 90 year old man with deep roots in Cuba as you've represented yourself to be many times on the 'net. Just this week you said you were from a different generation from Val Prieto.

As you and I both know, nothing could be further from the truth. It's a lie. And if "Vana," and "Farinas" and Corgiguy and KillCastro don't care that they're being lied to, I suppose it really doesn't matter all that much.

I went over to your little "Madhouse," Manuelito, and was unable to find my comment. Whatever.

And years before I was born William F. Buckley was citing my writings in his books and The Wall Street Journal was publishing my articles.

What a great prodigy I must be (in your mind, at least)!

Your so-called "deleted" comments are in The Madhouse, as I've already indicated. Check again towards the end of the 192-comment thread. (Haven't seen those since I left Stuck on the Palmetto, have you?).

Let's see, you say you give your readers your first name, your age and city of residence. So you are King Rick I? As far as I know, only kings, singers or porn stars use only their first names. Which are you? One thing that you aren't is famous. Just one of 300,000 "Ricks" and variants.

The fact is that by using only your first name you are no different from someone who blogs anonymously.

Why don't you just end this charade and ask me to honor your blog again with my presence? Isn't that what you want and desperately need? The return of "Stuck on the Palmetto's favorite, the beloved Manuel A. Tellechea," as you used to call me.

Manuel A.Tellechea said...

P.S.: Rick, at least Val doesn't come here and grovel as you do.

Agustin Farinas said...

Manuel,
So Rick used to call you the "beloved Manuel Tellechea" on his Blog? Wow! Talk about a love affair gone sour!

Rick,
As for me, I really don't care one fried banana about Manuel's age because to me that is an irrelevant and unimportant issue. I read what he posts here and reach my own conclusions whether his is 15 or 95 years of age, and so far I take him at his word. I did read what he posted on Babalu a while back and reviewing the comments made there, I see that the folks at Babalu have done a complete 180 degrees turn around now on the Eschefan affair, and they now agree with Manuel's comments back then. In fact they have said they will not buy the record or the videos from the Eschefans.
One does not need to be a wise old sage to see that Manuel's position on that particular issue has been truly vindicated, hence his expulsion from Babalu at that time was unwarranted and undeserved, in my humble opinion. Since his expulsion resulted in the opening of his own blog, I think we all have benefited from Babalu's hasty error in judgement.

Agustin Farinas said...

Corgiguy,
I agree with you, that is why I read every day. I don't take anything for granted and I question everything. I listen to everyone's opinion then and reach my own conclusions.
My answer to Rick was that I really do not care about anyone's age and I don't see what that has to do with anything. I don't understand his obsession with the blog owner's age. Who cares? If you come here and visit, then the owner of the blog's age should not matter to anyone.
Age only matters when you are a cheese or wine.

Manuel A.Tellechea said...

Agustín:

The "love affair" was strictly one-sided. I used to make a fool of Rick on a daily basis at SoTP. He "loved" it and me because I made his sitemeter soar as never before or since.

Now his blog is a ghost town, just like Babalú. The only time when a post of his takes off is when he dedicates one to bashing Cuban-Americans, as he did recently. Of course he can't do that every day without gaining a reputation as a bigot among the general public. He has long enjoyed that reputation among Cuban-Americans. It is enough to say that both Val and I agree on that one.

Vana said...

Boy this guy Rick does not know when to give up, he's still at it with the age thing, as I said before, Who Cares! I like the way you put it Agustin, age should only matter if it's wine or cheese...lol...
Manuel is quite obvious that those blogs are dying since you no longer comment there, you do have a way of inciting people to comment, they are hurt and it shows, Rick for one always cries like a baby when he comes here, he needts to Get Over It! and stop whining

Corgiguy,
You are right, and I am past the last stage you described already so you can imagine what I think. Since no one I know pays my rent, food or my gas, I could not care less. As I said, I listen to everyone, sometimes I may say what I think, other times I withhold my thoughts when the other person is not worth arguing with, as with the Fanto, since I don't want to waste my effort. You did see I go to sleep (literally) when he comes here. If I can learn from others, I try to. As someone said: better to keep you mouth shut and have them think you are a fool, than to open it, and confirm it.
Manuel,
I emailed you to the address you posted here a couple of days ago.

Vana,
is true, age only matters if you are talking about wines or cheese. I know some people that are 45 and act like they are 75. Others are older but they act much younger. Is all in the mind and one's attitude.

Now how old did you say Manuel was? LOL

Manuel A.Tellechea said...

Agustín:

Let this be a hint to Rick of how old I am.

As a security measure, I created a special e-mail account where you could send me your contact information so that I, in turn, could send you your fabulous prize.

And, guess what? I forgot the password! I had to tear open a bag of garbage filled with scrap paper and go through its contents till I found the slip of paper whereon I had written it and only then was able to read your gracious e-mail.

I wish that you would give me permission to post the photograph you attached of yourself and your wife against the most beautiful scenery that has ever been seen outside our country.

Of course, Agustín, you know that Rick thinks that you don't really exist, that I created both you and Vana from clay. In other words, he thinks I am God. It is not an easy thing to be somebody's god; and Rick, frankly, expects too much from me.

The funniest part of this IS that if Mr. T was a man in his 40s (or younger) and had been able to accomplish what he has (which is well documented) and has the facility of oratory to rip to shreds anyone’s argument, be it in English or Spanish, then the man’s IQ must be in the 250 range ! I always attributed his facility of prose his humor and his incisiveness to the maturity and knowledge that comes with age. If that is NOT the case , well that is one damn special gene pool the man enjoys

Wisdom is not an unavoidable consequence of old age. Castro could live to Methuseleh's age (God forbid!) and yet be none the wiser for it. I think that it's a question of heredity more than anything else. Just as we do not all metabolize food at the same rate, produce testosterone at the same rate or lose our physical faculties at the same rate, our brain cells do no die at the same rate either. Some of us get to keep more of them as we grow older, some less. A great many, none at all. A vigorous mind in a less than vigorous body will always assume a dimension greater than itself. It's the same thing with children: a prodigy is a prodigy because he exceeds our expectations for his age. In that sense there are also prodigies among the old.

And yes, This is a beautiful place. We have other pictures also as beautiful or ven more beautiful. If you want I will continue to send tyhem to you and you are free to post them at your will or not. Keep up the good work. You must be doing something right obviosuly, otherwise they would have been ignoring you.
