To tell the unconventional truth, respecting no one who does not respect Cuba or the Cuban people's right to freedom.
I remember the incredulity of some Venezuelan friends when I warned them of what was coming onto them, they said: Venezuela no es Cuba! No, it's not. It's worse than Cuba. In Cuba, fidel castro had to steal the country using the means of terror and weapons, with mass executions, and bombs in movie houses. In Venezuela, elections fueled with rum and envy towards the "wealthy" (meaning, everyone who was gainfully employed) were enough for Chavez to usurpate power. They allowed a convicted seditious officer to postulate himself for elections, in violation of the nation's constitution, they voted for him in droves, which gave Chavez enough coverage to alter the figures, and well.... people are supporting him without the coercions of castrism. Too late now.... He will castroize himself in power for years to come, and only a miracle wil sweep him off the power seat. The more gallant of the Venezuelans will be slaughtered on the streets or under a fusillade, and still there will be some cheering for Chavez. As I tell my Venezuelan friends -who today recognize that I was right- I am no prophet. I just lived it a few years ago.
"Beat this wall, Amin." "Dig the latreen, Amin." And now, here I am. The President of Uganda. - Idi Amin from the Last King of ScotlandChavez reminds me of Idi Amin more every day.
Actually, the King said something like: "le atizaria un par de cachetadas a ese" and here you are, with the King punching el Mico to a pulp....
Charlie:If nothing else, the Cuban experience over the last 48 years should have been an object lesson to all our fellow Latin Americans. But it was not. They preferred instead to profit by our misery rather than our example. Cubans fell into a booby-trap. Venezuelans, Nicaraguans and Bolivians were just boobs who elected their own tyrants and must now live with the consequences. Perhaps the only political boast that we have left as Cubans is that we never elected Castro to office.
LOL that's how I would like to see el mico all the time, black and blue..lolVenezuelans better wake up, this is a very dangerous man, plus he has the power of oil, which can give him the money to import his brand of tyranny.
Exactly Manuel, Castro had to steal the country by means of inventing terrorism (noche de las cien bombas, the first airplane hijacking, etc.) and he had to resort to mass executions to secure himself in place. Ortega, Evo, Lula, Kichner, Chavez, and that guy from Ecuador ALL of them have been elected.... Well, they didn't want to look at our example.
