American History 901: How to Steal an Election

This is American History 901.

You are not taught this stuff in school. You'll only find it if you've dedicated your life to exploring the Black Hole that is the political history of this country. If you've done that then you know already that Obama's coronation, achieved by stealing half plus four of Hillary's delegates in Florida and Michigan, is no historical anomaly. But neither is it the most egregious instance of electoral fraud in U.S. history. That would be the election of 1960.

A lot of people know, or think they know, that Kennedy defeated Nixon thanks to the cemetery vote in Chicago. Yeah, that helped. But before Mayor Daley's ghostly legions could carry JFK to victory, it was first necessary to get him even with Nixon. All the ballot stuffing in Chicago would have been unavailing if Kennedy had not been able to steal the electoral votes of the Deep South.

The Democrats knew that there was no way that John F. Kennedy could carry the Deep South in 1960 even with Lyndon Johnson as his running-mate. They also knew that Kennedy could not win unless he did. It was decided, therefore, that JFK would not be on the presidential ballot in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi. Instead, the state Democratic committees "seceded" from the National Party by prior connivance and with its blessing, and nominated former Klansmen Senators Harry Byrd and Richard Russell as the Democratic standard-bearers in those states. The Democrats were thus about to carry Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi. The electors for Senator Byrd chosen in those states cast their votes instead for Kennedy at the Electoral College. That's how Kennedy was elected president (with a little assist from Mayor Daley).

No breach of democracy ever committed anywhere in the world at any time in history can match in creativity or sheer gall the monumental fraud that was the U.S. election of 1960.

For Cubans in particular that election would have catastrophic consequences which are still being felt today.

The electoral sleight of hand used to secure the Democratic nomination for Obama, despite the fact that Hillary Clinton received a plurality of the popular vote and delegates, does not bode well for the future of Cuba, either.

Although I do not believe that a Socialist can be elected president of the United States, it is not by any means reassuring to have one as the anointed candidate of the Democratic Party.

  1. The funniest thing is that Obama wasn't even included in the Michigan ballot. In a wonderful display of dishonestly, he got himself HALF of the delegates of a place where he wouldn't have chalked up any. His morals are questionable, but also those of the delegates. Corruption and dishonesty seem to be the name of the game!

great history lesson. Now, I'm worried all over again . . .

  3. MAT,
with a good dose of intervention by the MSM he seems to be the chosen candidate. If Hillary had pulled the stunt of the Michigan delegates, they would have been all over her, but since it is Obama's candidacy, tyhe darlibg of the MSM, we are talking about, they tuned a blind eye and ignored the chicanery.
The annointed candidate has a very tupsy-turvy history in Chicago radical politics and ven going back to his high school days in Hawaii when he was being mentored by a member of the Communist party who just happen to live in that State and Obama himself refers to him as Frank (his full name is Frank Marshall Dvais) in his book but never gives his complete name. All of this has been ignored by the MSM.

"Barack Obama had extensive ties with extreme anti-American elements, including agents of the Moscow-controlled Communist Party USA, in Hawaii and Chicago, according to two new reports released yesterday in Washington, D.C., by two experienced internal security investigators.

Investigative journalist Cliff Kincaid and Herbert Romerstein, a former investigator with the U.S. House Committee on Un-American Activities, presented evidence Obama was mentored, while attending high school in Hawaii, by Frank Marshall Davis, an African-American poet and journalist who was also a CPUSA member.

The authors, in a separate report, document Obama's ties to radicals in Chicago who helped launch his career.

In a paper entitled "Communism in Hawaii and the Obama Connection," the authors document that in 1948,Davis decided to move from Chicago to Honolulu at the suggestion of what they describe as two "secret CPUSA members," actor Paul Robeson (Stalin Prize winner) and Harry Bridges, the head of the International Longshoremen's and Warehousemen Union, or ILWU.

In Chicago, Davis had worked for the Chicago Star newspaper; in Honolulu, he was hired as a reporter for the Honolulu Record, both identified by Kincaid and Romerstein as "communist front newspapers."

It sounds like Obama has continued his friedships with America haters until the present time, except that now they are called "religious leaders, instead of full blown members of the Communsit Party. But don't expect to read anything about this on MSNBC or the other MSM. For them this story is taboo.

I guess that may be the reason Rubber Head Fantomas, likes him so much and has great hopes for him in dealing with Cuba.

You can read the whole wonderful story about the Democratic saviour here:

That's a very good point. They grandfathered Obama into the ballot months after the election and awarded him half of Michigan's delegates (+4).

  14. "...No breach of democracy ever committed anywhere in the world at any time in history can match in creativity or sheer gall the monumental fraud that was the U.S. election of 1960..."

Before the day of the election in 1960, rumors that Kennedy's father Joseph had been buying votes for his son clouded the proceedings, especially in Mafia-plagued Chicago, vote-rigging was widely speculated about and reported. Nixon later jeered, "even a tombstone in Cook County can go to vote."

John F. Kennedy claimed 22 states while Nixon won 26, with the rest gained by the third candidate Harry Byrd. However, in terms of the popular vote, Kennedy's 34.2 million ballots beat Nixon's 34.1 million by a narrow margin of around 115,000 votes. Despite losing the election by a tiny 0.17 percent margin, Nixon still phoned Kennedy to congratulate him, conceding defeat. Nixon also refused appeals to challenge the result, adding that ,"a recount will trigger a constitutional crisis."

[My gratitude to my friend Red from Taiwan for some of the data mentioned above.]

Until the day he died, Nixon firmly believed that Kennedy had stolen the election, nevertheless, when his secretary Monica Crowley asked him in his later years if he still believed a recount would have torn the country apart and sunk the U.S.A.into chaos, Nixon still gave an emphatic ,"Yes."

The fact that Nixon took this belief to his grave and his choice of what he considered to be placing the national interest over personal gain, illustrate IMHO, the futility of one sided altruism, the way I see it, any questionable behavior and hanky-panky from an opponent should be investigated, exposed and challenged, there is such a thing as being too good for ones own good, it usually leads to being taken advantage of and abused, it is imperative to have the courage to draw the proverbial line in the sand and stand ones ground, anything else is guaranteed victimhood and oppression. Don't we know!!!

Obama will be the first unconcealed black to be nominated by a major party for president and the first to be defeated in a national election.

There have, of course, been other black presidents from both the Republican and Democratic parties.

Maybe that should be American History 901, lesson #2.

  18. Manuel,

Not a Kennedy fan in the least, and I am not ashamed to admit Nixon is among my heros, family legend has it that among my first phrases was standing in front of the TV during the hearings sighing "pobre Nixon", but, have you ever heard the tale that Nixon got blocks of votes from Cubans who had not yet becom citizens and were registered to vote illegally? I heard this only once in my life, debating the 60 election in college, so consider the source.

  30. No votes were "stolen." This was an intramural primary election, rules and procedures set by the party. They made them up as troubles occurred, compromising to make as many happy as possible. As with any compromise, nobody's ever 100% satisfied.

Florida and Michigan shouldn't have been counted at all. They broke the rules that existed at the time and were warned what would happen. They did it anyway.

For biggest election fraud of all time, I'd vote for Hayes/Tilden of 1976, or Bush/Whatzisname 2000.

(But don't blame me I voted for nader.)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I wionder where the Rubber Head will stick his head when the final tally of the votes in November are counted and it shows his "wonderful candidate" Obama was defeated?
The Rubber Head is a closeted Democrat making us believe he is a true and true Republican but anyone can see through his farce.
My advice to you Rubber Head is to save your Obama's buttons and show them to your children if you have any, (I pray they will not even resemble you) or sell them at the flea market in P.R. a few years from now. They will be worth something by then.

  38. Manny: Those of us who voted for Nader have consistently taken the blame for Bush more than any other constituency on earth. Judging from comments from friends, family, and strangers on the train,I think I've done that all on my own.

Questions about the rules and "it's their party" and why have the primary anyway are legitimate -- I'd like to think that finally, after this year, they'll see how idiotic and unproductive it is. They won't of course -- the primary system is a big money maker for both parties. But basically, they do what they want, either out in front on the stage or under cover in the back room.

'Way back, I posted about my professional gambler buddy whose theory is they should simply award the nomination to whoever can raise the most money. Looks like that system would have worked for the Dems this time. Again.

  74. Rumor has it that there is a new tape making the rounds where Michelle Obama goes on a rant about "whitey" and its evil history in America.
I saw Bob Beckel yesterday on a TV show and he said he was very worried that if this tape is true, then the Obama candidacy is kaput and in a tailspin from which it will never recover.
If this is true, I am sure Obama cannot claim again he never heard his own wife making those accusations and ranting and raving about and out of control, like Jeremiah Wright. And to top it off, the church parishioners were chanting and egging her on while members of the Frrakahn family were in attendance.
Would he throw Michelle under the bus in order just like he did with his grandmother, Reverend Wright, and Father Pfleger in order to save his candidacy? Stay tuned, the plot thickens.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Agustin:

I read something like that myself, I have searched for it but have been unable to find anything, if they trully have her taped saying whitey, then Obama is kaput.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Vana,
Bob Beckel is a Democratic spokesperson and strategist from the Clinton era, and he said last night that he had heard or was told about this tape where Michelle was supposed to have gone on a rant about whites and present in the audience was Mrs. Farrakahn (a known racist and anti-semite). According to the reports, the crowd was cheering on (well, just like they did during Reverend Wright's outbursts)and she really went off the deep end in the rant.
If you add this to her own statement that "she was never proud of her country until now" it all makes sense. But we will have to wait for the tape to surface and then make a judgement.
As far as I am concern, when I put everything on the table and analyze it in detail, Obama is not good for our country and I will vote against him. I find his stand of foreign policy naive (and that is a kind word to give him the benefit of the doubt)and misguided and his past associations with radicals such as Bill Ayers, a known terrorist and his wife, troubling. These folks have a very strong anti-american bent and as late as 2007 and 2006 were saying very anti-american things that are very disturbing. Consequently I don't feel comfortable with this guy nor do I trust my security or my children's to him. He has also spoke about disarming by curtailing new weapons development, and this issue is worrysome because this advantage in the military over other nations is what has guaranteed our security in the last 5 decades. I don't want to give up that edge and advantage and his plans do not seem logical or wise to me. But that is my own opinion.
Unfortunately we have idiots like Fantomas who never reads anything but his own blog who are cheering for Obama witthout doing any research or finding out about the positions of the candidates. And believe me there many Fantomases out there with the same ignorance about the issues. Sad but true.
