Castro and Obama: Practicing Genocide As Statecraft

The sole distinction of Barack Obama's political career (besides its brevity and inconsequence) consists of being the country's most radical defender of abortion on demand, which he takes farther than any other troll of Planned Parenthood to encompass even infanticide. The man who will be inaugurated as president on January 20th is the only U.S. legislator to have voted three times for the putative "right" of a woman to have her baby murdered on the delivery table in case of a "botched" abortions ("botched" because the baby was born alive despite the abortionist's best efforts to kill it in the womb).

Senator Obama supported partial birth abortion because he claimed what no sane physician or sensible human being would ever believe — that, in some cases, murdering the baby after it had exited the birth canal was in the mother's best interest, presumably to promote her mental health since once the connection between them was severed the baby could in nowise affect her physical health. By "mental health" Obama meant that a woman would be happier if the baby that she wanted to abort did not leave the operating room alive even if this required hacking it to death before her eyes, crushing its head with a mallet or pulling its limbs apart as it struggled to live outside its mother's body. In other words, an abortion in process can never be stopped until it achieves its objective, whether it's to destroy potential or actual life.

No thanks to Barack Obama, Congress abolished and the Supreme Court upheld the unconstitutionality of partial birth abortion. It wasn't a hard call since nothing is more demonstrably homicide. Yet Obama, who opposes capital punishment, wanted it inflicted on innocent babies without the benefit of judge and jury so as to allow no chink to be opened in the wall separating what is right from what is politically expedient. For Barack Obama and other liberals, a woman exudes a baby as she does a turd and can dispose of both as she pleases. (Well, actually, he would be in favor of conserving the turd as a source of alternative energy and harvesting the baby for its stem cells).

In Communist Cuba, the authorities have the same respect for human life as does Barack Obama, except that in the U.S. the woman's right to abort her baby is paramount to any interest which society might have in stopping her, whereas in Cuba the opposite is the case: a woman has no right to bear her baby to term if the state determines that it should be aborted for the "greater good." In Cuba, fetuses that are deemed to be "non-viable" are aborted routinely without the mother's knowledge or consent. "Non-viable" can mean anything that the regime wants it to mean. If, for example, it is determined, not necessarily on the basis of tests but simply on family history, that a baby might be born prematurely or with a congenital disease, it is aborted preemptively so as not to risk a spike in the country's infant mortality rate, which is kept artificially low precisely through the practice of eugenics and infanticide. When the doctors fail to diagnose an abnormality which becomes apparent after parturition, and could, potentially, take the baby's life within its first year, the living baby is "aborted" on the delivery table and listed as stillborn. Such a practice is unknown in any other country (even North Korea encourages births). Yet Barack Obama wanted to follow Castro's lead by refusing to outlaw partial birth abortion in the U.S.

Forget about youth, charisma, forensic skills or any other comparisons between Fidel and Obama: it is their contempt for human life — the most fragile and vulnerable of human life — that they share in common.

The Castro regime treats Cuba's infant mortality rate as an ideological weapon (I was going to write "biological weapon," but I don't want to confuse terms since Cuba has those weapons, too). Its artificially low death rate is often held up as proof of the Revolution's much-vaunted "achievements" in the field of medicine. In fact, Dr. Nicholas Everstadt, of the Harvard Center for Population Studies, demonstrated 20 years ago using Cuba's own raw data that the regime falsified its infant mortality rate, in effect keeping two sets of books, one for internal use and another for foreign consumption. Still, even if one accepts Castro's figures, Cuba's infant mortality rate today does not rank among the 25 most advanced countries of the world, whereas before the Revolution Cuba ranked 13th, ahead of most of Europe and all of Latin America.

The totalitarian mindset (as exemplified by Castro) kills human beings in order to make it seem that it is concerned with the conservation of human life. The liberal mindset (as exemplified by Obama) sanctions the killing of human beings so that it can claim respect for the rights of human beings. The result, however, is the same: the wanton genocide of innocent children who are deemed "unfit" for life because they do not fulfill the needs of the State.

Mat, if you believe in the preservation of life, then why didnt you speak out against the killing in these unnecessary wars, like Iraq.

You guys support teen-agers going around and blowing each others heads off in Iraq. But you throw a fit over the killing of babies. No difference to me. The only difference between you and me. Is that i am against killing of any kind. Whether they be an unborn child, or a born child that is slaughtered in an unnecessary war. But then again, you Cubans are full of hyprocracy. Which is why you are on the sidelines as the world passes you by, day by day!!

  4. Vana, apparently you have not been keeping up to date with what goes on in this country in the open and in the shadows of grey and black hues. You should really pay more close attention to not only RCAB, wherein this type of inhuman behavior has been reported numerous times by Manuel, but also to the myriad of honest and truthful sources of information that have been fighting for the rights of the unborn for more than thirty years. Where on earth have you been hiding that these well known facts have not yet reached you, despite you having read them?

  5. The "low infant mortality rate" constantly trumpeted by the apologists is due in no small part to the regime's loose definition of "birth". There's a movie called "Shooting Michael Moore", which exposes all his lies. In it, the director (I forget his name) investigated the real Cuban healthcare system, and he interviewed a doctor who said that in Cuba babies who are born premature are left in trash cans to die, so that it won't affect the "low infant mortality rate".

On another interesting note, one would assume Obama would be against abortion, given its quasi-racist undertones. After all, one doesn't see many abortion clinics in the streets of Suburbia.

  12. Oh, manny, are we back to this again?

First of all, "partial birth abortion" is not a medical or scientific term, but a political slogan.

Second, there are no reliable, documented cases of American physicians hacking to death live fetuses whose abortions were botched. In places where abortions are allowed unhampered by zanies, the procedure is relatively safe. But even if the fictions you describe could be found, these would be unique exceptions to the rule, and a matter of malpractice and criminal significance. Can anybody produce a record of this kind of incident? Evidently not.

Third, as has been reiterated endlessly through the years, the matter of abortion has more to do with the choice of the impregnated than the alleged rights of third parties. Few individuals west of the Pope find comfort in the view that no abortion can ever be justified. The usual example is the adolescent brutally raped by her drunken HIV positive father/uncle/brother. Who has the moral authority to force this victim to carry her pregnancy a minute more than necessary, let alone to term?

Given all these factors, your comparison of Obama to Castro shrivels in the sunlight.

    Happy New Year!

Sad indeed, as this should be a time of celebration of a free Cuba, had the Cuban-Americans rose, once Fidel fell.

Instead, the (thought to be) vaunted Cuban-American community, looked on with passive indifference, when Fidel stepped down. Rather then quickly seizing this most golden moment in Cuban history.

After my tour in Bosnia, i began to wonder why Cuba was still communist. Now i know: 1) my nation and 2) Cuban-Americans. Both of which have a vested interested in the status quo.

See, conservative means to preserve the status quo. Progressive means to move beyond. Cuban-Americans are "conservative" on the handling of Cuba, aka, status quo.

They are content with another 50 years of American policy towards Cuba, i.e., Wet/foot. Even if that means another 50 years of Cubans merciless dying at sea.

My country of the U.S.A., are equally content with the status quo, i.e., Cubans mercilessly dying at sea. Particuarly, the anti-immigrant conservative, which represent the bulk of the republican party.

Of course, progressives/liberals who believe in humanity, want to see that practice to end. Of course, both my country, and the Cuban-American community will be the first ones to call the humanitarians, commies.

None of it makes sense to me. But, i now know the answer to my question, "why is Cuba still communist."

Both my country, and Cuban-Americans would have you believe that Cuba is still communist. Because of some washed up Hollywood actor like Sean Penn, going to see the Dog and Poney show in Cuba. Or an ignorant 17-year old hippie, wearing a Che-T shirt to high-school.

Nope, Cuba's 50 year imprisonment is much bigger then that. I know that now, and so does America, and their corrupt, self-loathing Cuban-American prostitutes!!

Some 40 years ago, when African rebels attacked a convent and raped all the nuns, the Vatican sent abortion pills. There are (almost) no absolutes in this world, not even for the Catholic Church. Yet I think that we can all agree on principle that killing children after they've been born is wrong, even if Fidel Castro and Barack Obama would disagree.

Like you, I dislike the term "partial birth abortion." Once the umbilical cord is cut, there is nothing "partial" about the birth or "partial" about the abortion. I personally favor calling it post-partum abortion.

Whatever one chooses to call it, however, there is no question that it was once an acceptable medical procedure until Congress outlawed it and the Supreme Court declared the practice unconstitutional.

My point is that Manuel has three links to his writings about this issue within this very thread, the articles that those links lead to we have read, again, all from Manuel's writings, and to finalize, the abortion and pro-life topic has been abundantly discussed by both sides of the Roe v Wade decision, it is impossible not to know something about the topic at this stage of the dilemma, more than thirty years after the decision was reached by the Supreme Court. The matter of post-partum infanticide was addressed numerous times during Barack Obama's candidacy campaign. You must have seen, read or heard about it.

    By The Associated Press

JERUSALEM - Israel's prime minister said Monday that U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was embarrassed after being ordered to abstain from voting for a United Nations ceasefire resolution that she helped arrange.

A U.S. official denied the claim.

Israel had described the resolution calling for a halt to the Gaza fighting as unworkable because it did not guarantee Israel's security, and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said he was key in persuading the United States, a close ally, to abstain.

The resolution, passed Jan. 8 in a 14-0 vote, "calls for an immediate, durable and fully respected ceasefire, leading to the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza."

"I said: 'Get me President Bush on the phone,"' Olmert said Monday in a speech in the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon. "They said he was in the middle of giving a speech in Philadelphia. I said I didn't care: 'I need to talk to him now.' He got off the podium and spoke to me."

Olmert said he told Bush that the United States should not vote in favour, and the U.S. president then called Rice and told her not to do so.

A senior U.S. official disputed the account.

"The government of Israel does not make policy for the United States," the official said on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the diplomacy.

If the practice known as partial birth abortion did not exist, then why did Barack Obama thrice vote in favor of it? Why squander his political capital defending something that supposedly didn't exist? Why not just say that it didn't exist?

Abortifacients, however, have existed and been used since antiquity.

It does sound like an urban legend, but it is not. In fact, it is not even a jungle legend.

Here's a "humanistic" retelling of the facts:

"During the independence war in the Belgian Congo [in the 1960s], some nuns were raped and Pope Paul VI gave them permission to terminate their pregnancy if they chose to do so. That decision, an important precedent for compassion and good sense when Christian humanism finds itself in the dilemma of opting between extremes, has been buried in the sands of forgetfulness.

  33. Manny: of course there is documentation of “intact dilation and extractions,” which is what the ideologues renamed “partial birth abortions.” What I said lacked documentation is any case of a doctor performing one unsuccessfully, then hacking the fetus to death on the operating table. That’s what I called myth and propaganda.

I hope the story of the nuns is true, and I’m disappointed that you didn’t provide a link so I could pursue it further. Its message points to a place where I’ve arrived: that the question of pregnancy and birth is in fact one of choice, and that even in the most rigid and unyielding ideologies, exceptions can be made. As they must. If the Church can see its way to this conclusion, where does that leave those who would vehemently deny any choice in the matter at all?

Fantomas: No, you don’t know me: I only know you from your presence here where you tax the patience of readers of this blog. la explosion y destruccion de este nido de arrogancia y narcisismo se apresura, este corral que nacio accidentalmente, precipitado al mundo por la reaccion egotistica de su autor, cuyas explosiones emocionales son rutinarias de la impaciente naturaleza de la albumina excesiva combinada con la arrogancia tipica de los Batistianos y sus lacayos adinerados, aquellos que traicionaron a la patria y culpan a todo el mundo por lo que ellos decidieron no combatir, si no huir como cobardes, abandonando a sus compatriotas que tuvieron que comerse las de san quintin por culpa de ellos, ese mismo tipo de altruismo falso combinado con la psicopatia que tiene el autor contra los demas blogeros cubanos, expresada en su enfoque constante contra babalublog y sus autores, han culminado en la autodestruccion de lo que nunca deberia haber venido a la blogosfera cubana, que se vaya y solavaya ...tic ...tac ...tic... tac ... tic ...

  60. Many people in his administration refer to President Bush as the first Cuban-American President, as his dedication to the cause of the Cuban people's freedom has always been strong, steadfast and unwavering.

Say what you will about the man, but his convictions vis-a-vis Cuba have always been crystal clear. No other US president in the history of this country has done as much to help Cuba's prisoners of conscience and political prisoners than President George W. Bush.

Gracias, Mr. President. To me, you truly are the first Cuban-American President.

    Travelinbeat,
I do not take kindly to anyone telling me to the "love it or leave it" taunt, hence my strong worded reply. It is pleasent way to tell me: if you do not like it here, get the hell out. It is a pleasent way to say it, but in the end the meaning is exactly the same.
I heard the same tune before in the old Communist country so these words bring back very bad memories. My apologies if the word "son" was ofensive to you. Judging from the picture on your moniker you could probably be my grandson. LOL.

Not many people say that Val. "Everybody" around the world says that.

Too bad, you dont know how devastating that is to the Cuban-American community.

    P.S.

Like i said before, "the Cuban-American, must cease with their vicious self-inflicted wounds, if they ever want to see a free Cuba again."

And no other President, was handed a Fidel-less Cuba either:

This is for sure. If Fidel went down when Reagan was in office, Cuba would be free by the end of Reagan's term.

So Val, keep prostituting whats left of the Cuban-American's busted reputation. In order to receive invites to future Bar-b-que's at Bush's new home in Dallas. As that is the reason behind that selfish post, rather then the truth, about Bush's "real" empty record towards Cuba, which includes the mericiless, Wet/foot, dry/foot.

If a plague, and a speech about poltical prisoners at a Cuban exile 'fundraiser" is all that is necessary to satisfy the Cuban's wishes in regards to a free Cuba. Then the Cuban peoples, truely are cursed by God!!

LOL, i was just thinking the same thing. Like i said, Val is feeling rather comfortable knowing that the Anvil, is soon to be no more.

I will have to say, that Val's pro-Bush post, is probably the most transparent, and foolish, that he has ever written.

To continue to latch Cuba's freedom onto Bush, discredits both Cuba's push to freedom, and the Cuban-American voices who want to see a free Cuba. As Val, has shown not to be interested in a free Cuba, only future visits.

But, like i said before. Bush has only two groups left: 1) the repbublican xenophobics, 2) Cuban-Americans.

  68. Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- They're part of a long standing tradition that will soon become a part of Presidential history.
The head of the Alabama NAACP, however, wants Mobile's Azalea Trail Maids to stay home on Inauguration Day, claiming the group reminds him of slavery.

"These are not just regular costumes. These are the costumes that remind someone of the plantation in Gone with the Wind," Edward Vaughn said in a phone interview.

Vaughn went on to say the group would be the laughing stock of the Inauguration. County leaders say nothing could be further from the truth.

"We want everyone to know that these young ladies do not need to be identified with slavery," said Mobile County Commissioner Stephen Nodine.

"I don't see what the dresses have to do with racism. I don't see it. It's just a regular dress to me. Just a dress they wore back in the day," said Carolyn Tius of Montgomery.

Organizers stand behind the tradition, but opponents say tradition is the problem.

"We needed something that could show Alabama's great progress rather than something that shows a shameful past," Vaughn said.
