All the Lies that Fit in Print (Part 2)

"There were 6000 doctors in Cuba at the time of the Revolution; there are now close to 80,000 for a population of 11.3 million," Roger Cohen, "The End of the End of the Revolution," New York Times Magazine [Dec. 5, 2008], quoting a "top official at the Ministry of Economics," without verifying the figures or attempting to put them into historical context

In 1957, according to the Statistical Abstract of the United States, there were 65oo physicians in Cuba for a population of 6.4 million. The ratio of physicians per population was approximately 1 per 1000 inhabitants. This was the same ratio as in France and Holland and better than in Great Britain, which had only .83 physicians per 1000 population. The corresponding figure for the U.S. at that time was 1.27 per 1000.

There may be "close to 80,000" Cuban doctors today, but the great majority are not in Cuba but are posted throughout the world as Castro's medical Ghurkas, their salaries paid by foreign governments to the Cuban state, which dispenses about 5% to them for living expenses. These doctors are in fact nothing more than slaves rented out by their master on a per diem basis. Their families are not allowed to accompany them on internationalist missions but must remain as hostages at home to discourage them from running away to freedom.

  3. Bush wants to mock the Cuban-American community one last time. Bush has back-handedly annoited, Val, the spokesman for the Cuban-American community as Bush's lasting Cuban legacy.

Bush's vetters know full well that Val is a foul-mouth drunkard arrogrant lout, who will continue to work to harm the Cuban, in their long absence.

See, if Bush was truly serious about recognizing the Cuban freedom fighters in order to highlight the plight of the Cuban island. Bush would have summoned the Cuban-American church. Or those who have lost love-ones off the waters of Florida. Or those who lost love-ones whose planes were viciously shot down from underneath them.

Instead, Bush summons a Miami Cuban foul-mouth preverted drunkard. Whose first task, was to enrich himself by asking for (another) donation for a $200.00 plane ticket.

Now over here is Manuel, who is swinging punch-drunkardly at the bankrupt, and long ago discredit New York Times. It is all a transparent sham though. And it would be comical, except that Cubans are needlessly dying. And with the help of Russia and Venezeula, is now actually moving further away from democracy.

Nevertheless, America put an end to these selfish, heartless Cuban-American clowns. And fortunately for America, and the Cuban island. These excrements that Fidel flushed to Miami, will never be allowed to walk the halls of power again!!

    P.S.
Thanks Bush, we couldnt have done it without you!!

  6. Right you are my friend, most physicians are out of the country doing their master's bidding, they should be home looking after their countrymen, though they have no medicine to offer.

From what I have read they live in deplorable condition and are treated as Castro's slaves, with no voice of their own.

  7. Not only that Vana, nowadays Casstro Inc., is assembling MDs --insert sarcasm here -- faster than automobile manufacturers assemble cars and trucks, a majority of them are truly at the level of Doctor's Assistants, their qualifications are not that different from such US equivalent or EMTs, back in the 1970s I was a pre-med major for a couple of academic years before I decided to change my major and I also did some volunteering with my neighborhood's volunteer ambulance squad, I'm just as qualified to be labeled as a MD by the Casstro Inc. standards of the last seventeen years.

"Hey Angel usted entra aqui como si usted durmiera en este blog. Puede saludar primero a los comentaristas si desea. Las buenas maneras son siempre bienvenidas"

You must be confusing me with someone else anonymous, my commentaries are usually limited to the time frame that my jobs allow me to have, in other words, I usually comment at around this time of the late afternoon / early evening, or late at night and sometimes I do not even have free time to visit RCAB for a few days at a time, you must have been thinking of yourself.

I know that Enrique could not have been the anonymous that submitted this comment, Fantomas knows that the correct expression that we use is not "...Las buenas maneras...", we say Los buenos modales, apparently one of the American-Cubans thought he knew how to speak Spanish, probably one of the rabid Babalusianos. What will their next metida de pata be?

Good idea CJB-BCJ, I'm willing to bet $500.00 that Valentin will not dare to take Dubbya to task for his deplorable Cuba policies, Val is once AGAIN, "humbled" and probably awed by the "privilege" of having been chosen as "our representative." Unbelievable.

  11. Did any of you get a chance to watch O'Reilly last night?

I caught the 11:00 PM encore and I was once again flabbergasted by the utter stupidity of Ted Turner, when O'Reilly took him to task for supporting and calling Fidel Casstro a friend, he recited the usual lies about Cuba's health care and education. When asked about whether or not he had asked his former wife Jane Fonda to apologize for having sided with the NVA and the Viet-Cong during the Viet-Nam war and the resulting slaughter of millions that took place not only there, but also in Cambodia (he forgot to mention Laos) Turner replied that not enough information had been mentioned in the Western media, to which O'reilly replied that he (Turner) clearly owned the means (CNN, TBS, TNT) at the time to have done precisely that, I can't wait for tonight's eMails segment.

Disculpe Centurión, no tengo tiempo, muchas gracias caballero.

As i said before, "Cuban-Americans need to look inwardly, and start dealing with those destructive forces in said community." Because there is no greater enemy of the Cuban community, then the Cuban.

Val will not voice the serious concerns of the Cuban-American community. As Val has gained, that which he so eagerly seeks, i.e., money. Cuba's freedom is just a vehicle that Val desperately peddles around like an empty wheelbarrel begging to be filled!!

  16. My cousin is a doctor and was sent to Africa. On the way back to Cuba, his plane stopped in Canada and he defected at the airport. His family was not allowed to leave for TEN years as punishment. When he saw his daughters again they were teenagers. He is now happy and in Montreal. Look at how many of the cuban doctors in Venezuela have been deserting their posts. Plus, the quality of a significant portion of the doctors in the system is poor and one has no ability to sue if there is malpractice.

  21. Vana,

I have two more interviews to do. I dont feel to good about it though. As they asked for me for a 2-page writing sample. Which to this day i cannot understand why in the hell they would want a stupid writing sample.

Nevertheless, because i was from Miami, they asked a lot of questions about Ros-lethem, and her hanging up on President Obama. In fact, everywhere i went (bars and restaurants) everybody was talking about it. But to answer your question about my prospects. I just dont know yet, as they seemed to be mostly interested in my writing sample. The rest was generally small talk!!
