Sarah Palin's Speech

An excellent acceptance speech by Governor Palin. I would only have added this passage to her introduction of her family:

"And did you hear? I'm going to be a grandmother! That, too, is a baby that God made and I welcome him to my family."

  1. An excellent speech is right, I'd say it was one of the best I've heard in a long time, Mrs. Palin's confident and unpretentious style shined through, her toughness and fairness are obvious, just as her convictions, courage and dedication to our shared values and to God and country. Mark my words this day, McCain has played a masterful tactical and strategic game of chess by selecting Sarah Palin as his running mate, she will be the one that will defeat Hillary Clinton in 2012 or 2016. Remember, you heard it from me first.

    I was very impressed.

  5. I was very exited with the speech, in fact this is one of those few times that I agree with the liberal media:

It wasn't just a home run, said CNN's Wolf Blitzer; it may have been a grand slam. "A very auspicious debut," said NBC's Tom Brokaw. It was a "perfect populist pitch," said CBS' Jeff Greenfield. "Terrific," said Mort Kondracke on Fox News Channel.

  11. How terrified I am after watching Sarah Palin's speech last night. As if it weren't scary enough that this is a person who calls the war in Iraq "God's task", a war which she by her own admission has had little to no focus on, she spent the entire speech taking nasty, cheap shots at the Democratic nominees AND the millions of people that support them. Instead of belittling the work of community organizers and the people that benefit from them, taking nasty cheap shots at the styrofoam columns used as a stage backdrop at the Democratic convention and the grassroots effort overall, perhaps she could have taken that opportunity to enlighten America on how she plans to repair our struggling economy, healthcare and education systems and what her plans are to end the war in Iraq. Where is the moral leadership in this party? What must be going through the minds of the rest of the world as they watch in horror.

As a woman, I have never been more offended by a politician in my life. She supports aerial hunting of helpless wolves and bears. She represents an extreme anti-choice position, an abstinence-only sex education approach in schools, and claimed to be the woman to finish Hillary Clinton's work in breaking through the glass ceiling she had already put 18 million cracks in. Mrs. Palin, you are no Hillary Clinton.

Let me see if I understand you:

God is punishing white Cubans because of their "congential racisim" by inflicting on them another white Cuban whose "congential racisim" tops any other white Cuban's.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Is God going to inflict Barack Obama on America so that his black side might punish his white side?

  17. Jesus Fucking Christ!!

    Explain this one Mansuelo:

According to Nicole Wallace of the McCain campaign, the American people don't care whether Sarah Palin can answer specific questions about foreign and domestic policy. According to Wallace -- in an appearance I did with her this morning on Joe Scarborough's show -- the American people will learn all they need to know (and all they deserve to know) from Palin's scripted speeches and choreographed appearances on the campaign trail and in campaign ads.

They wont let the media ask her questions.

  18. Am i the only one concerned that anti-Cuban immigrant and racist Tom Trancredo was behind the selection of Palin?

  19. The last thing we need is an anti-Spanish right wing racist in the white house. I sure hope Manuel keeps a wary eye out, and rings the alarm bells when necessary.

We live in scarey times indeed...

  20. Just because Palin was able to read words off a teleprompter suddenly makes her a quality candidate?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Carlos:

Did you not hear her teleprompter went kaput halfway through her speech?

    ReplyDelete
  22. She is a former TV news reporter. She has experience reading from a teleprompter and knowing how to improvise if it malfunctions.

I understand after watching McCain's pained speech and Bush's blundered speeches over eight years, a woman like Palin - who can actually put two sentences together - may seem like a godsend.

But to think that she is capable of presiding over the United States is laughable, if it weren't so scary.

Palin strikes me as the office bimbo who gets promoted because she wears sexy outfits.

It happens all to often in corporate America. It's terrifying to see that it could happen in the Executive Office.

But it really shows that republicans strive for mediocrity.

As if the last eight years weren't enough evidence of that.

  23. Carlos:

All VP's are office bimbos, is not like she's running for president.

  24. Vana,

McCain is 72 years old and he is not even as spry as his 95 year old mother.

It's obvious the age is catching up to him. He reminds me of my dad during his final years.

I used to say it couldn't get any worse than Bush, but if Palin takes over, it will be worse.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Carlos:

Seems McCain comes from good genes if his mom made it to 95 perhaps beyond he too may get there, McCain is a patriot and a hero who fought for his country, the same cannot be said of Obama who until recently refused to salute his flag, sorry my vote cannot go to someone like him.

Sarah Palin is so unpatriotic, she supports a party that hates the United States. See it for yourselves.

(it's only the basis for Bush's War on Terror)

Think back o' duh bus for ya's. ;)

  30. "I don,t know who is worse. That cunt, Sarah Palin or the White and Cuban-American trailer park trash that are going to vote for the bitch."

I'll tell you who... you and all those who show so much hatred for a group of people because they differ from your point of views, and call a woman a bitch. You, my friend, you are worse.

Jerilyn... I am amused you are terrified by Sarah Palin calling the war in Iraq "God's task", which by the way, was taken out of context, and not by Obama pastor's comments...
Also Jerilyn, not to make this personal, since I believe you are entitled to your opinion... but how can you be more horrified by the fact that She supports serial hunting of helpless wolves and bear, but not by Obama's opposition to ban on partial-birth abortion, I mean, you are actually killing some of your own specie...

Carlos Miller, I suggest, you verify your information before you keep misleading people... Sarah Palin does not belong to the Alaska Independence Party. The "Bush Doctrine" which is just a phrase use mostly by liberals it is also called War against terrorism, that have kept us save.

By no means I agree with every candidate, nor president Bush, which I believe has been one of the worst presidents (just my opinion)... But at the end I am going to vote, and I hope you guys do to, for the one candidate who represent my views the most. I don't agree with Obama in almost anything. I do not trust the guy, and before you call me racist, let me tell you is not because his race, but because his left wing slogan sounds soooo much from what you hear through out latin america's socialists... and the truth is, they tend to betray the people.

By the way, could anyone please explain to me how is he going to offer universal health care, strengthen our education system, and so on, with such budget deficit and national debt? I am sorry but there is no way the democratic party could do so without raising tax, and raising tax will not help reshape our economy.

Please, stop making silly judgements to other's point of views. Divided we fail!
