The unauthorized disclosure of information relating to the identity of American intelligence officials is a crime punishable by fines and up to 10 years in prison under the Intelligence Identities and Protection Act.
Leaking the name of a CIA agent is tantamount to putting a gun to that agent’s head. It compromises his safety and the safety of his loved ones, not to mention those in his network and other operatives he may have dealt with.
Yes, either one can be held liable. But in the end, the feds will flip one to testify against the other. So one will eventually escape prosecution. Likely Val, as he is a "bit" smarter of the two.
You can be RCAB's always hard-hitting courtroom correspondent and report to us all the details of the trial from your unique and never duplicated perspective.
Do you have any drawing skills? Because then you might also be able to supply us with sketches (you know, Val & Henry breaking down on the stand, breaking down at recess, breaking down as they wait for the verdict, breaking down as the sentence is passed, breaking down afterwards, etc.).

Just want to again give you props for your hard work. I REALLY think that you should consider an official collaboration with KC and CB on what would be the definitive blog concerning Cuban affairs. Wait, let me restate that - what I think you should do is create from scratch, via a partnership, or through transformation of RoCAB the definitive blog on Cuban affairs. Your no-moderation stance on comments (and occassional use of the madhouse), plus great prose style and effective, tight editing would be the Ginger (or Fred) to KC/CB's Fred (or Ginger) [as represented by their source access and insightful analysis of current cuban affairs]. You wouldn't have to limit the partnership to just CB/KC, however (though the inclusion of multiple collaborators would of course make for a "collaboration" as of partnership). The more the merrier, if the end result was of value to the readers.
I don't begrudge you your relentless skewering of Babalu. Let's face it - they reap what they sow. Nonetheless, I think your talents are wasted in the fight for a Free Cuba by devoting so much of your energy to shooting fish in a barrel (Babalu = fish in barrel, ie, easy killin).
I also don't begrudge Henry/Val/et al for their devolution into their current state. It is what it is, and they are what they are.
But for the love of the ideal of a free Cuba and all things good and beautiful, please spend more time writing non-Babalu-centric Cuba posts. Please.
There is obviously a HUNGER in the marketplace for insightful writing on Cuba. And the successful formula is simple - create a blog that IS what Babalu once aspired to be. If you build it they will come - of that there is no doubt.
You could even include Google and more sophisticated advertising to generate some token revenue.
Here's what I see:
KC/CB - great contacts, analysis, source material, wit and passion - but horrible editing/prose b/c they're writing in ingles instead of castellano.
MaT - great prose, great editing, no comment moderation, insightful commentary, etc., etc - but sometimes a myopic focus on Babalu which detracts from the broader discussions of Cuban history, Cuban current affairs and all things of interest.
Babalu - great concept, once proud history, residual legitimacy in eyes of mass media, awesome blog masthead (love those eyes) but one foot in the grave b/c of censorship, lack of tolerance of dissenting viewpoints and Henry's having hijacked the blog, George's having gone crazy prior to being forced out and Val's blogging fatigue.
I know there is no money in this, but christ, this is a Coca-Cola moment. Will someone just do it, please? Get that Cuba-focused investment fund to become your first advertiser...
John, chupame la verga, accusing me of being Val/Henry. Hmmpfh! I had to post as anoymous b/c I'm not on my machine where I have my google/blogger password, plus I'm half in the bag after a couple of drinks. Val/Henry are strange and unpredictable, but not so stupid as to publicly call for the final nail in their blogging coffins. Puh-lease. MaT knows who I am - he knows all (and could confirm via a quick relation between IP addy and map results) - but let me assure you that Val/Henry I am not.
The big question for me is whether or not such coverage of cuban affairs appeals only to a small niche market or if there is broader appeal to casual readers with less personal stakes in cuba.
How would you be able to draw such a sketch of Henry's prison initiation? Wouldn't you have to be in prison yourself? Do you mean that you would be willing to make that ultimate sacrifice in order to record his descent into hell for us? Your commitment knows no bounds and cannot be praised enough. However, I would suggest that you just sketch the trial. That would be enough for us. We could ask no more from you.
I suppose from your answer that you can in fact draw. If this were otherwise I should suggest that this would be the perfect time to take one of those match book courses in preparation for the great day.
You are my other eyes. I didn't even think to count today's commentaries at Babalú! Three, you say? My God. They've simply given up. Why don't they just eliminate the "Comments" section and cut out the pretense altogether? Nothing will fix this situation except abandoning censorship, and that, of course, they will never do.
A very thoughtful and reasonable proposal. It has, in fact, been enacted already in many ways. Killcastro and RCAB are already sister blogs. Charlie Bravo, Killcastro and I are always in constant communication. We share ideas and approaches all the time and always have suggestions that will benefit the other. My admiration and affection for both is great, and I find their writing styles perfectly suited to their purposes; their Cubanized English is a delight for me to read and I would never change it because it conveys perfectly their essence and that is the hallmark of good writing. "Correctness" is my thing; lashing convention is theirs. And yet, as you say, we complement each other perfectly. May I add that you are also a formidable writer: too much so to be anonymous to me.
You are right also that my focus on Babalú may have passed its heyday as they themselves have passed their heyday. It will continue on my part only as long as necessary. I believe the day it shall not is near and no one looks forward to it more than I.
As for replacing Babalú that has never been my goal. My sincere wish was that I could reform Babalú from without. I may have succeeded but for Henry's opposition, Val being, of course, always pliable.
Even now, they could announce that they were welcoming all commenters and scrapping the practices that have led to Babalú's decline and yet hope to salvage their enterprise. This, of course, will not happen either.
Your advice is welcome and I will try to institute whatever suggestions lie within my reach.
Some sites don't need comments. They are informational not polemical. Babalú is the latter. Real Cuba is the former. Therein lies the difference between them. I may add that Babalú should strive to do the general good which Real Cuba does every day of the year even for one day of the year.
Anon asked: The big question for me is whether or not such coverage of cuban affairs appeals only to a small niche market or if there is broader appeal to casual readers with less personal stakes in cuba
From a non-Cuban perspective. I find the Cuban question absolutely fascinating. To think that my nation of America "allows" unspeakable crimes against humanity to occur less than 90 miles from its shores is shocking.
Moreover, it is equally amazing that the powerful Miami Cuban community cannot find a way to ultilize it powers. The billions of dollars of accumulated wealth, her powerful local and national figures, and her ex-veterans, many whom possess the very best military training in the entire world.
Yes indeed, i find the Cuban question one of the most interesting topics to ponder.
Some sites don't need comments. They are informational not polemica
Vamos ten verguenza dilo de una vez Abajofidelblog doesnot need comments , vamos dilo..recuerda alli no se trata de polemicas is just denuncias and informational
Good news for Babalú today! They have raised the total of their comments to 9 over five posts. That's almost 2 comments per post. Fantomas, why don't you visit Babalú and give them that extra comment that they so desperately need to reach so worthy a goal? Do it as a favor to me.
HI, Anonymous, Manuel.... Well, thanks for the flattering thoughts, I am the one who once said that I speak the President's English instead of the Queen's. In some ways what you propose exist. We are in touch, and I think that the beauty of it is that we respect each others approach to news and information -and opinions- and you'd be surprise to know that there are many differences in angle and ideology that are by no means fundamental between us. The common enemy is fidel castro and its regime and all of their appendages. All of s are focused on that, with the occasional stray bullet. I am glad that you have us in such a high esteem, a blog is as good as its most mediocre reader. That's what makes it or does away with it. That's the difference with a newspaper. Blogs are highly individualistic, while newspapers aren't, they are the voice of a certain agenda, more frequently than not. For example, KC and myself have lengthy editorial conversations and we are very careful in putting information out here. Even when we report a rumor, we concentrate more on the report than on the rumor so we only put forward items that have been double and triple checked. The case of the damn 03*C? for example. We checked with people who are in Havana, in different neighbourhoods, and we didn't find anyone who could say, it's this or that. We also spoke with people who has seen the original castro-sponsored graffiti. Imagine, we do not have time in the day for a whole full fledge editorial board review. The dynamics of blogging go against it very grain. Not to mention that we have some areas of interest that are totally different, which would be difficult to coordinate. Also, there's a tactic-operational slant to this. We can't afford to be a slow, big target. We work better as individuals with different initiatives and different modes of operation. This way, we can surprise with moves coming from different directions. Thanks for the compliment about my English. I think that the only person who gets those compliments besides myself and Arnold Schwarzenegger is George W. Bush. C'mon, at least tell me that I do better than he does. In my opinion, what you want is already there: our blogs link each other, and the differences in editorial lines guarantee that you get fresh material all the time instead the stale exhaust that comes out of the rear of a behemoth. Writing by committee was never great. Let's not turn this corner of the blogosphere into a two traffic light, two newspaper town. Let's have a lot of diversity and a lot of opinions. That's my two red pennies.
Yeah, I was surprised KC. I have exchanged punches with Phil Peters in several occasions, but we have always finished the match bloodied, but with a gentlemen's handshake. That's the beauty of living in a free country. When one does not agree with somebody one does not have to try to destroy that person, one let that person be and that's it. Everyone has to live with what they do. To be honest, there are certain affiliations of people that one should not touch, after all, all the guys who work-worked in national security risk the skin of their buttocks everyday so we can have space to rant and be useful -or useless. Do you have to agree with their views and methods? Hell no. You can even despise them, if you will, but there's a limit on what you can do to people. I hope this mess doesn't have terrible consequences for anyone, and that a lesson is learnt. Maybe I have way to many hopes. But today I am in a good mood.
mira yo no se de que hablan de chivatear a nadie... a mi nunca me ha gustado eso, pero como se lo dije a ellos personalmente , dont drag me into this mess... no es mi problema resuelvan ustedes
MaT, Sorry to continue with the reader suggestions and veer off topic, but I completely agree with Anon@6:11. I now only glance or skip the Babalu-related posts and look for Cuba related posts. Please, more Cuba. Also, please don't forget about "Sunday is Funday."
As I said, I look forward to the close of Babalú -- as I once did to its reformation -- so that I can concentrate on other matters. Unfortunately, having undertaken this task, I cannot abandon it before resolution is achieved. I might also point out that there are those also who prefer the Babalunian War as my principal topic.
I am not going to be as eloquent as CB and if I knew better I would just go “yeah what *HE* said” but … I never know better so. Two blogs, three writers vs. one blog 3 writers. Decisions , right ? But it is actually quite simple, with two blogs we have absolute freedom of movement, of thought of topic, Many a times we coincide at a certain point but that is accidental. It has been my experience that few blog readers go past the first one or two posts, they may or may not leave a comment , doesn’t really matter . The information, the immediate and pressing issue has been let loose. CB and I realized that NOT posting at a paced rate usually leaves one or two post orphan and THAT may be an important post which is left behind.. So many times we hold back, either because we are researching a quasi-truth that got to us from a semi reliable source who heard it from a Chinese guy who works for the Hungarian embassy in South Korea. Yeah, it does get THAT complicated. Sometimes CB and I get scoops that need to go NOW. The famous trip of KaSStro tied to a gurney and being brought down 3 floors in the back of a hospital and then thrown into a regular car and driven to punto cero (when coicidently we found out where the REAL PUNTO CERO was) was one of those. I got the info, I called CB, I was worried although I knew the source well and the guy was giving me the color of the blanket how many people and the type of car , I worried cause I did not have confirmation from CB . Now, technically why would MY source and CB’s source be at the same place at the same time. They have NO fucking idea the info comes to one place. I have two groups who know nothing about each other and CB has I believe has one source every 17 blocks (may be 19 ) We decide to post this as other blogs were trumpeting KaSStro’s death. Tough choice … but VOILA the post had been up no more than 15 minutes and CB gets confirmation that KaSStro HAD been in THAT hospital and was taken out in the middle of the night through a back stair. BINGO pay dirt. That was one of our most read posts we had , I guess because we were going against everyone’s “wishes” and we were spoiling the celebration by telling the FUCKING TRUTH ! So it is much easier to keep the alacrity of your work when it doesn’t need to be discussed amongst 3 people (we tried that, did not work). AS far as Mr. T … As you describe we provide something of value but NEVER in a zillion years will reach Mr. T’s edge. It is beyond a pleasure coming here, It is a visit to a Zen master. His surgical strikes to the BABALU gang .. Well you know they HAD IT coming. AND you miss a VERY valuable point in saying that by unmasking BABALU’s pabulum we are keeping an eye off the REAL target. Mr. T is NOT, on the contrary single handedly he has been able to put a lot of clarity as far as the intentions agendas and credibility of that group. In the middle of a battle (if we want to get that dramatic) BULLSHIT and noise does not help you hit a bulls eye. Mr. T handles the job of focusing a reader’s attention to the areas that will give you a true picture of CUBA 2008 by just unmasking the impostors the CUT & PASTE geniuses. Are they worth the time to unmask ?, yes they are! As I said in this blog once (and was honored Mr. T quoted me “I would be more than happy to focus on one enemy, but sir … I do not know who my enemy IS!” As of THIS second I can tell you that the BABALU crowd is inflicting a tremendous blow to the Cuban cause. What is happening in Cuba has caught them by complete surprise, they did not expect this AT ALL. And when you are without any sources and can not rely on the 50 year old stories we have gotten from your elders , you are sitting on a very sharp and pointy log.
So , what happens , distractions , personal commentaries which no one gives two fucks about and of my GOD , the DRAMA . “As I see the bloggers in Cuba I can not help but feel honored ..” FUCK YOU , you called them all G2 agents, stick to one story or at least admit you were wrong , but do NOT pretend noone heard you, cause you SCREAMED your lungs off trying to get a second’s attentions. So they do not seem to get out one scramble go to the other and where there’s no argument they WILL make one. I guess their FIDEL IS DEAD syndrome is proof positive of the need for attention. They get a kick out of hits. We do not , it really means nothing to us , because factually , we have very little patience for bullshit (ask Fantomas) , now Mr. T will entertain that, make shredded wheat out of the morons and there is a good chance you will not hear a peep out the idiot ever again.. (Of course Fantomas, is a bipolar freak so he doesn’t count). The point here (if there is one) is that we independently work as an ambidextrous batter , doesn’t matter who is pitching we ca swing one out. There’s a LOT more coverage. And THAT is the POINT (shit there was one). Would you want to amalgamate that into one blog where stories are just pilling up fighting for space without being read because the writers are on a roll? That does not do anyone any favors. So, as CB says THANKS and thanks to Mr. T for his more than generous appraisal of our style, it is a true honor he finds what we do not only informative but entertaining, we find his work utterly flawless. Ta-da … the MAS is over, where is the milk?
Hey CB/KC, just so you know, i wasn't meaning to belittle your capabilities with the English language at all. I understand you perfectly and can even hear the cuban spanish influence on your diction and style as it is represented in English. I was thinking more along the lines of what will be appealing to a less sophisticated audience w/ regards to style, or at least most appealing to an audience not yet aware of how Cuban spanish grammar manifests itself in prose written in english my a non-native speaker.
And as for advocating collaboration that is more formalized between you and MaT, it stems from the notion that a single source or "go-to" destination for Cuban affairs reporting and/or commentary could be a more powerful messaging media, news outlet and editorial forum according to a variety of analytical methods than several smaller - yet equally impactful - blogs that are very much so related but less effectively connected/linked in the eyes of potential advertisers, sponsors, other MSM crows looking for a quote or two from Cuban_affairs specialists, etc., etc., I've got one eye open and haven't had the visual stability to read all of the comments appearing on this thread since I posted, but I saw both CB's and KC's handles up there and wanted to make sure that everyone knew I was writing from a position of passion and desire (lubricated by a few beers on a warm spring afternoon) and with heartfelt thanks for and support of the work done by all three of you, and the dozens of other sources, contributors, commentators, tipsters and countless other actors scattered across the globe and deep within the bowels of the beast who help shape Cuban affairs blogging on the net. Viva Cuba Libre! Que Viva!
great thread! I fell off my chair when I read that Fantomas called Vana and me "las dos urracas parlanchinas" . . . Now, MaT I gotta tell ya I have no clue what this means (perhaps you can translate) but Fantomas' moronnic comments sometimes just crack me up. . . He seems lonely. I don't think he receives the accolades he feels he deserves by his masters at Babalu and he obviously has lost any shred of credibility here. Still, he is as entertaining as The Bong Show.
KC said: His surgical strikes to the BABALU gang .. Well you know they HAD IT coming. AND you miss a VERY valuable point in saying that by unmasking BABALU’s pabulum we are keeping an eye off the REAL target
Yup
KC said: Mr. T handles the job of focusing a reader’s attention to the areas that will give you a true picture of CUBA 2008 by just unmasking the impostors the CUT & PASTE geniuses. Are they worth the time to unmask ?, yes they are!
Yup
I find it interesting that all of the sudden how everybody has new-found advice for mat. Whether MAT decides to focus only on Cuba, keep the status quo, or pull the plug on RCAB. His blog has already served to educate, and alert readers to those that are enemies of a free Cuba. Which there are many that hide behind shrill rhetoric such as Val and Henry.
john, I have learned a great deal about the Cuba situation from MaT and Killcastro blogs. Particularly, I've picked up on who cares about Cuba and who cares about themselves and their aspirations in a new Cuba.
Not everyone has altruistic intentions about their homeland. A great deal just see $$$ signs and feel they are superior to the folks that have had to deal with this repressive regime for 50 years.
He seems lonely. I don't think he receives the accolades he feels he deserves by his masters at Babalu and he obviously has lost any shred of credibility here
Credibility...Who has it here? So far only crumps from MAt and his clowns but none of that here
Tengo que traerte esto Mat de nuevo porque hay un payaso de los que te siguen que esta saliendo del closet ahora y se quiere hacer el gracioso conmigo otra vez aqui te lo dejo para ver si adivinas quienes el culprit
lol
Que bajo has llegado Mat .
It is comforting to know that RCAB has reached the point where it can run on autopilot! This proves that, contrary to what our enemies are always saying, there are on no hand puppets here. This blog is alive and vital unlike our sad nemesis, Babalú, which is already on life support, and, apparently, can't be revived without another "¡Fidel Is Dead!" Hoax, and then only for a 24-hour period after which it will emerge more discreditted and dead than before.
Not everyone has altruistic intentions about their homeland. A great deal just see $$$ signs and feel they are superior to the folks that have had to deal with this repressive regime for 50 years.
I think Val and Henry can be a case study on how Cuba got itself into her current situation. The greed, selfishness, backstabbing, deceit, and willingness to do harm to their Cuban brothers and sisters mirrors the mindset of Fidel. And unfortunely, Fidel has given birth to these nasty traits into the Cuban people, many who never had them to begin with. Now his grandchildren attempt to poison others with these traits.
Indeed, man by man, blog by blog, these men must rooted up and vanquished. Fidel's grandchildren, like Val and Henry must never to be allowed to infest others with their grandfather's poison of deceit, trickery, and backstabbing onto Cubans who simply want a free Cuba!!
Mat dime hasta que numero de coments quieres llegar? vas por 81 dudo mucho que le pases a joani en el penultimo post cogio 2359 comments a world record for a cuban blogger.. Ya se hacen las gestiones para incluirla en el guinnes book

You are right: two hands are better than one and Killcastro and RCAB's are clasped in friendship and committed to the same goals.
Babalú has its cadres and its satellite clinging at its feet (though not for much longer). Our two blogs are equals, which, as has been observed here already, complement and augment each other.
It is true, as you say, that many visitors will read only the latest thread even if there are others with which they are not acquainted. It is preferable, therefore, to have two screens rather than one on which to air our message.
That message is being heard more and more every day and its influence grows ahead of our expectations, as we continue, simply and forthrightly, to tell the truth. The inconvenient truth.
Fantomas, I know you have a heart. Why do you defend freedom of speech for Tibet but allow Babalu to censor and delete? That should make you sick . . . but instead, you "wash your hands of it" by telling "them" and MaT, not to involve you ... interesting.
Speaking of "Freedom for Tibet," you will be pleased to know that anti-Communist Chinese websites have copied and translated our posts on the subject (more on that to come).
The truth is that fantomas has more influence here than at Babalú, where he is Gunga Din the water boy, scolded and kicked by even the lowest minion, although he has done greater service to Val's blog than most.
I do not know which is more contemptible: their treatment of him or his willingness to be treated thusly.
I do not consider Yoani Sánchez's Generation Y to be my competition. Val does consider it his, though Yoani's blog gets 1.2 million hits a month and Babalú gets 50,000.
Since badmouthing her at Babalú and the The Wall Street Journal have proved unavailing, Val has belatedly joined her bandwagon but not to follow her example.
Fantomas : Your commentary is superfluos as we never trust you anyway. You have been unmasked for all to see, so there is no need to warn us about your behaviour, because we know what you are, that is why we do not trust you as far as we can throw you.
They surely know, but once chivato, forever chivato....
ReplyDeleteVal and Henry's "outing" has no doubt been duly noted by the proper authorities.
ReplyDeleteWhy did Henry out a CIA Agent? if he did he's screwed, once a chivato, always a chivato.
ReplyDeleteDo you think that Henry could survive in The Big House?
ReplyDeleteI defer that question to John.
ReplyDeleteAnon asked: Do you think that Henry could survive in The Big House?
ReplyDeleteDunno, as many times as Henry's dunghole has been passed around Southbeach over the years. I doubt if there would be much interest in it!!

ReplyDeleteHenry flee to Cuba? What makes you think he doesnt already make routine trips to visit his communist handlers?
ReplyDeleteAnon asked: I guess what you both mean is that he would be able to keep his purity in prison.
ReplyDeleteNot after Val's conjugal visits!!
Wouldn't Val also be responsible for this criminal disclosure because it was published on his blog? Val Prieto is, after all, the "editor-in-chief?"
ReplyDeleteIs Henry Gomez the New Benedict Arnold?
ReplyDeleteHahaha my title
Yes, either one can be held liable. But in the end, the feds will flip one to testify against the other. So one will eventually escape prosecution. Likely Val, as he is a "bit" smarter of the two.
ReplyDeleteIf either Val or Henry is charged. God almighty, i promise you, i will attend each and every court proceeding. Front row, with a big grin on my face.

ReplyDeleteMy very first sketch will be that of Henry on all fours, "eagerly" awaiting the prisoner welcoming committee!!
Mat,
ReplyDeleteBabalu has had 3 comments all day long and this is not a weekend.
Henry is doing a phenomenal PR job for Babalu. ROFLMAO

ReplyDeleteJust want to again give you props for your hard work.
Mat becareful, as anonymous could very easily be Val or Henry!!
ReplyDeleteJohn, chupame la verga, accusing me of being Val/Henry.
ReplyDeleteok, sorry
ReplyDeleteBut why are people all of the sudden offering advice to mat?
ReplyDeleteProbably because people are hungry for more coverage of cuban affairs and recognize MaT's talents.
ReplyDeleteThe big question for me is whether or not such coverage of cuban affairs appeals only to a small niche market or if there is broader appeal to casual readers with less personal stakes in cuba.
ReplyDeleteJohn:
ReplyDeleteHow would you be able to draw such a sketch of Henry's prison initiation? Wouldn't you have to be in prison yourself? Do you mean that you would be willing to make that ultimate sacrifice in order to record his descent into hell for us? Your commitment knows no bounds and cannot be praised enough. However, I would suggest that you just sketch the trial. That would be enough for us. We could ask no more from you.
I suppose from your answer that you can in fact draw. If this were otherwise I should suggest that this would be the perfect time to take one of those match book courses in preparation for the great day.
Ms. Calabaza:
ReplyDeleteYou are my other eyes. I didn't even think to count today's commentaries at Babalú! Three, you say? My God. They've simply given up. Why don't they just eliminate the "Comments" section and cut out the pretense altogether? Nothing will fix this situation except abandoning censorship, and that, of course, they will never do.

Anonymous @ 6:11:
ReplyDeleteA very thoughtful and reasonable proposal.
Your advice is welcome and I will try to institute whatever suggestions lie within my reach.
fantomas:
ReplyDeleteSome sites don't need comments.
ReplyDeleteFrom a non-Cuban perspective.
Te lo he dicho mil una vez un blog o un buen web site no se mide por la cantidad de comentarios que estos tengan...

ReplyDeleteGood news for Babalú today! They have raised the total of their comments to 9 over five posts. That's almost 2 comments per post. Fantomas, why don't you visit Babalú and give them that extra comment that they so desperately need to reach so worthy a goal? Do it as a favor to me.
P.S.:
ReplyDeleteAn interesting comparison presents itself.
This post is just 16 words. Yet it has elicited 40+ comments from RCAB's faithful readers.
The Babalunians have cut and pasted hundreds of words today and no post has received more than 5 comments.
There is a lesson in there for the Babalunians.
Fanto,
ReplyDeletewhy is manuel's opinion and approval so important to you if you look down on this blog so much?
HI, Anonymous, Manuel....
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks for the flattering thoughts, I am the one who once said that I speak the President's English instead of the Queen's.
ReplyDeleteI have exchanged punches with Phil Peters in several occasions, but we have always finished the match bloodied, but with a gentlemen's handshake.
That's almost 2 comments per post.

Okey this is for THAT person whoever you are :
I have two groups who know nothing about each other and CB has I believe has one source every 17 blocks (may be 19 )
We decide to post this as other blogs were trumpeting KaSStro’s death.
Ok Please someone tell me who did Henry oust? is Phil Peters CIA? is that who it was? I'm lost.
ReplyDeleteHey CB/KC, just so you know, i wasn't meaning to belittle your capabilities with the English language at all.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for advocating collaboration that is more formalized between you and MaT, it stems from the notion that a single source or "go-to" destination for Cuban affairs reporting and/or commentary could be a more powerful messaging media, news outlet and editorial forum according to a variety of analytical methods than several smaller - yet equally impactful - blogs that are very much so related but less effectively connected/linked in the eyes of potential advertisers, sponsors, other MSM crows looking for a quote or two from Cuban_affairs specialists, etc., etc., I've got one eye open and haven't had the visual stability to read all of the comments appearing on this thread since I posted, but I saw both CB's and KC's handles up there and wanted to make sure that everyone knew I was writing from a position of passion and desire (lubricated by a few beers on a warm spring afternoon) and with heartfelt thanks for and support of the work done by all three of you, and the dozens of other sources, contributors, commentators, tipsters and countless other actors scattered across the globe and deep within the bowels of the beast who help shape Cuban affairs blogging on the net. Viva Cuba Libre! Que Viva!
Good morning MaT,
ReplyDeletegreat thread!

I find it interesting that all of the sudden how everybody has new-found advice for mat. Whether MAT decides to focus only on Cuba, keep the status quo, or pull the plug on RCAB. john,
ReplyDeleteI have learned a great deal about the Cuba situation from MaT and Killcastro blogs.

ReplyDeleteIt is comforting to know that RCAB has reached the point where it can run on autopilot! This proves that, contrary to what our enemies are always saying, there are on no hand puppets here. This blog is alive and vital unlike our sad nemesis, Babalú, which is already on life support, and, apparently, can't be revived without another "¡Fidel Is Dead!" I think Val and Henry can be a case study on how Cuba got itself into her current situation.

Killcastro:
ReplyDeleteYou are right: two hands are better than one and Killcastro and RCAB's are clasped in friendship and committed to the same goals.
Fantomas,
ReplyDeleteI know you have a heart. Why do you defend freedom of speech for Tibet but allow Babalu to censor and delete? That should make you sick . . . but instead, you "wash your hands of it" by telling "them" and MaT, not to involve you ... interesting.
