A wonderful opportunity has presented itself to test George Bush's sincerity about his concern for Cuban dissidents. The president holds an event each month at the White House to honor a dissident or group of dissidents and reiterate his support for Cuban freedom even though he does nothing to advance it. For the sob sisters at BabalĂș this is enough to lavish the praise of a liberator upon him. Bush, who has upheld the "Wet Foot/Dry Foot" policy longer than did Clinton, now has the opportunity to grant asylum to one of those dissidents he is always praising, Arnaldo Nery GarcĂa. A phone call would save this man; a click of Bush's pen would end this insidious policy. Will Bush make the call or sign the executive order? Let him speak now or never speak again.

MaT,
ReplyDeleteI hope his actions are as swift and powerful as his words have been. We can only wait and see.
Don't hold your breath for Bush. The Bush save a dissident Clown Show.I watch his bullshit on cuba , and he never fails to amuse me... I hate to break it to you guys, but like everything else it will swept under the carpet. To many Bureaucratic red tape is as old as government itself. If Bush really wants to help, he needs to cut all the bureaucratic bullshit red tape.
ReplyDeleteso who are you going to believe? reality or Liar George Bush?
ReplyDeleteI don't dream on OZ mode...
Thanks Manuel for alerting us to the plight of this man... I certainly would not be surprised if Bush finds a way to "magnanimously" intercede by this honorable anticastro fighter AFTER everyone and their dog call him to task. The only way he has to demonstrate his sincerity is to ELIMINATE with a stroke of his pen the Dry Foot Wet Foot, and instead of making the Cuban refugees walk the plank like pirates' victims he should pay respect to the law of this land.... which he is choosing to ignore while he walks in Clinton's shoes. If he doesn't save this man he will demonstrate that his empty words are just the most sophisticated display of hypocrisy north of Havana.
ReplyDeleteWORDS , WORDS , WORDS,
ReplyDeleteWE NEED action , action , action,
No more medals ni ocho cuarto
I wrote the White House, we can only hope they listen, I feel he will be allowed to stay, let's keep our fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteAlarmingly enough, with the exceptions of Ziva, Manuel, and some of their readers, as well as some of KillCastro's many people do not seem to be very worried about the fate of Mr. Nery Garcia. As we wrote time ago in KillCastro, it is still to be seen what President Bush will do when a well known dissident finds him/herself caught this way on board of a Coast Guard cutter. I've been looking at the news, and there's not a single word devoted to Mr. Nery Garcia.
ReplyDeleteAnd you probably wont hear a thing Charlie, noone cares about us, not even some Cubans, only we care, we are all alone.
