"I've always believed in the axiom that the best indicator of past performance is future performance." — Henry Gómez, "I'd Like to Like Mike [Huckabee]," Babalú, January 4, 2008
Well, this explains a lot. Henry does see the world differently from ordinary mortals.

He's brilliant. I tell ya, brilliant!

He's giving Jay Leno advice these days. I wonder if Jay's reading babalu?

Is this an example of an "axion moron"?

You are on a roll! Keep it up.
Manuel,
I went to Babalu's blog and tried to read that specific post and I could not find that "pearl of wisdom". I wonder if they deleted that entry.
I had to reread that one twice to believe it. I think it might have been a mental fluke by Henry because I cannot believe he thinks that way.
"Future performance an indicator of past performance"?
I have to admit I don't understand that kind of logic. That logic sounds like something out of the Three Stooges!
Manuel,
I did some more resarch and found the entry in Babalu but what I saw read like this:
"
I've always believed in the axiom that the best indicator of future performance is past performance. That's why I've like Fred Thompson from the beginning. His voting record matches his conservative rhetoric. He's plain spoken but articulate. He doesn't wear religion on his sleeve. He's a known commodity."
You meant that before it was backwards?
Was it changed after you noted the mistake? Since I did not read the original post I cannot say.
Agustín:
I have no doubt that Henry corrected it or deleted it. Remember, everything is fluid at Babalú. Fortunately, I was able to preserve this pearl of idiocy for futurity.
I don't know what could be next for Henry. Perhaps "Those who don't learn from the future are condemned to repeat it?"
Agustín:
Yes, it was backwards before, and shall forever remain backwards here.
Google cache has also preserved the original inanity:

Manuel,
thanks. I clicked on the link you posted and sure enough, there it was in all its splendor.
So now Babalu endorses Richardson for President as a second choice. I always thought judging by their postings they despised any Democrat. So what gives? Can you give us an opinion as to this change of heart?
Manuel,
Looked like a typo to me.
Anyways, don't you ever get tired of being a critic? Seriously. Does Cuba not have enough problems worth commenting on?
There is life outside babalunia!
I can't possibly be the only visitor thinking this.
Anonymous,
I am inclined to believe that it may have been a typo by Henry. It can happen to anyone at anytime.
When Manuel is inspired, he can write wonderful pieces about Cuban History, poetry, World History and many other subjects of interest to all. Sometimes in my humble opinion, he dedicates more time than I wished he did, or I think Babalu deserves, posting about their flukes.
But after all, is his Blog and his undeserved expulsion from Babalu after commenting crtically on the Gloria Eschefan affair still, is fresh on his mind. With the passing of time, Babalu had to retract and revise their position on the Estefans and Manuel's was vindicated.
There is a certain amount of intelectual jealousie between the Babalu crowd and Manuel, because he seems to get the best of them when they face him in arguments.
But look for older posts where Babalu was not the topic, and you will find remarkable pieces well written and worth your time.
