I do not doubt that Fidel mocks Hugo behind his back; he is such an easy mark and Castro has never been one to pass up an easy mark. On Hugo's part, however, I believe the devotion to be genuine. That ridiculous and pathetic man's highest aspiration in life is to be Castro's shadow. Chávez expects, and Castro has encouraged this expectation, that the shadow will grow in proportion to the deterioration of the clay-footed original. I think it more likely that both will sink into the ground together.Manuel A.Tellecheahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08637085685599554349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8021135461622264124.post-38556970829207465842007-05-02T22:56:00.000-04:002007-05-02T22:56:00.000-04:00Agustín:That is precisely the reason that I rename...Agustín:

That is precisely the reason that I renamed him "Mambo Watcher." If he is healthy enough to write the editorials, if he can meet with Chinese members of the Communist Party, why can't he talk to the average Cuban on the Radio or TV? Since he used to bombard them with his tirades for hours on end, how come he can't speak for 15 min. on TV or Radio? Why all the mystery and suspense? If Hugo,Evo and Wu can talk to him, surely the average Cuban on the street is entitled to see him also? After all, he calls himself the "president of Cuba" even though he has never held any free elections.Sharpshooterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02392128808186050440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8021135461622264124.post-20483989339307948082007-05-01T10:23:00.000-04:002007-05-01T10:23:00.000-04:00Thank God he did not appear. I hate to think of the orgy of "commentaries" from the MSM as to his amazing power of recovery" "how he has outlived 10 US Presdients" etc. There is enough trash on the MSM on a daily basis about his Robolucion, we should be spared the deluge of such garbage today.
By the way Manuel, I popped into the "Mambo Watch Blog" who was linked in Penultimos Dias, and discovered that the Blogger spends so much time humbling himself, he probably has a hard time finding time for posting. What a shame he does not change the name to Fidel's Watch. That would be a more appropiate name. He soils and besmirches the name Mambi, by using it on his Blog name. Marti, Maceo and others will be turning in their graves if they were to read it.Sharpshooterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02392128808186050440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8021135461622264124.post-40114127283576778672007-05-01T10:08:00.000-04:002007-05-01T10:08:00.000-04:00He finally is a no show. At the end of the day, he's just been lucky the past 49 years. Certainly there has been many 50 year periods where Cuba has not been hit by the class 5. But let me remind you...there are two forms of luck - good and bad. Fidel has had all his good luck in the past. Now the odds of that continuing work against him and his brother everyday. Fact is everything has gone wrong since last summer when Fidel fell and his regime hasn't been able to get up. They've had a bad dengue outbreak that may still not be contained and here we are on the cusp of the rainy season again. Tourism has taken a dive and does not look like it will rise again as long as these jokers are in charge. Investment has stop. The infrastructure is collapsing. Cubans are grumbling all over the island. Their big oil refinery caught fire. The weather this past winter was wet and cold. I'd say the chances of Cuba being hit with a class five hurricane this summer or fall is getting close to fifty fifty. Mind you I'm not praying for that because it will leave millions homeless and hungrier than they are now. But who knows what this could set in motion?Tomás Estrada-Palmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11086622685927000217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8021135461622264124.post-83607967652953214662007-05-01T09:46:00.000-04:002007-05-01T09:46:00.000-04:00I'm betting he doesn't show. I would hate to see the output from the MSM about this tragic (for us) event. Akin to the Second Coming as Manuel has pointed out. We will be subjected to the endless reruns on the media of his amazing "appearence, how well he looks",he was at death's door and has made an amazing recovery" bullcrap etc. and on, and on. We will have to endure this nauseating spectacle for days and unfortunetely my reserve of Mylanta is very limited and I am unable to replace it where I am.!!!Sharpshooterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02392128808186050440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8021135461622264124.post-19692483629214357882007-05-01T07:58:00.000-04:002007-05-01T07:58:00.000-04:00Manuel, we have talked many times about kasstro's ...Manuel, we have talked many times about kasstro's pact with the Devil. A witness to the macabre ritual in la Sierra Maestra told us that the pact was for 50 years of power, the pact was signed with blood and fire in 1957, and we are in 2007. He hs lost a great deal of his rel power, now he is going to lose his leased "life" in the most horrible way; senility & dementia, served with pain and excrements. Let's see what happens today!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
