"So what's up? You're [sic] chance to be a Babalu contributor. The best stuff posted in the comments will be moved up here." — Henry "Economist" Gómez, "Friday Open Thread," Babalú, February 1, 2008
Henry Gómez is inviting commenters to become editors-for-a-day. Will we now see hundreds of names on Babalú blog's editorial board? And we thought that a baker's dozen of contributors was rather much. But here's an idea: Why not auction the chance to write a Babalú post? Val's other reader challenges — such as when he offered to shave his legs on live video feed for a fundraiser — have never yielded the results he expected leaving him profoundly depressed and angry. Allowing other opinions at Babalú even for a price would not be as degrading as airing his personal toilette and may prove more beneficial to his charitable concerns.

LOL..How about the way the economist wrote you're instead of your, you are right there are way too many writers at Babalunia.
Is babalu still an anti-Castro blog? Henry has changed it to an anti-Mccain blog. Somebody give him a xanac.
Mr Tellechea I noticed Mr Fantomas has added your blog to his blog list links. Do I see a change in Fantomas attitude. Will you return the favor and publish his blog link here?
Will we ever see you working along with Fantomas and BUCL in the future?
It is true that you and Fantomas will be launching a Blogtalkradio show soon?
is that if so , when is the date
I feel reconcilitaion and common sense is prevailing around here lately
Should I pinch myself

Fantomas' antics in the early days of the Review of Cuban-American Blogs, when he virtually abandoned his own blog to take residence in The Madhouse, contributed greatly to the success of this blog. The extent of that success will be fully known when I open RCAB's Sitemeter for its first year anniversary next month.
Because he is independent in his thought, knows more in his little pinkie about Cuba than Val & Henry do in their enormous combined avoirdupois, and, lastly, because he puts Cuba above all other concerns, fantomas was bound to have a falling out with the Babalunians, as I predicted here long ago. The weakest link, Moneo, is leading the attack against him, though Henry is not far behind. Val is showing more restraint than the others because he knows everything that Babalú owes to fantomas. Though he has never been named a contributor, fantomas provides the most interesting links used on Babalú and practically all the links from Spanish-language sources, which Val & Henry with their faulty and George with his non-existent Spanish would find difficult to do.
Fantomas knows that he will always have a place of refuge at RCAB, from the predations of the Babalunians upon him.
And, yes, I will return the favor and gladly link fantomas's blog.

Brilliant. Your succinct observation is worth all of my thousands of words on the subject: Henry has changed Babalú from an anti-Castro blog to an anti-McCain blog.
He has never made a secret of the fact that he is an "American-Cuban" and so we should not be surprised that his arcane concerns about the future of conservatism in this democratic republic should take precedence over his putative desire to bring democracy to Cuba.
Because he is independent in his thought, knows more in his little pinkie about Cuba
that was a low blow to my nuts , professor
Dont stir it

Do you smell the scent of defection in the air?
"Jiggle it, Peggy, jiggle it."
Do you smell the scent of defection in the air?
I smell continuing working hard in denouncing the regime that oppresses our brothers and sisters..thats all i care about manolito
It's Manuelito, not Manolito.
I take it this offer only goes for those comments that don't get deleted.
fantomas:
Dignity encompasses that and much more.
As dignity brought you to defend the Cuban people against the scourge of Castroism, so, too, do I believe that it will conduce you some day (soon) to condemn all who mingle our cause with extraneous considerations meant to confuse, deviate and ultimately defeat it.
"I take it this offer [from Babalú] only goes for those comments that don't get deleted." — carlos miller
I think it may provide insurance against deletion. Grease the palm and it may allow many things to slide over it.
Speaking about caring only about Cuba, over at Generation Y, someone who is living in Spain proposed that all exiles and their descendants should go to the Cuban embassies or in our case "interests section" and demand absentee ballots to vote in Cuba's elections.
Since Spain and most other countries extend this right to their expatriates and even to their children and further down descendants (at least Spain does), it would put the regime on the spot.
I don't know if this would be anything more than an annoyance at best, but I often wonder why we don't elect a legitimate government in exile, which would accomplish several things, like getting us focused on the future and what needs to be done. This seems like a good idea to me, at least on the surface.
I guess I'm impatient for some real action both inside and outside the island. Concrete steps as it were.

fantomas:
It is impossible to exchange spies for political prisoners without equating the two. It would be an insult to Biscet merely to suggest such a thing. Again, it's a question of dignity.
Besides, you know, fantomas, that the real number of political prisoners is not 200 but 200X100 or 200X1000.
claro son miles pero bueno 5x200 suena bien
take a look at this site Mr T

it is worth reading and commenting
Rene:
