Well, Babalú blog is a ghost town of posts to which not a single comment is hitched (no comments today and just 2 yesterday). It would seem that its commenters have quit in droves because of Babalú's practice of censorship and the nonsense of BUCL's self-annihilating campaigns.
Most of its vaunted readership of 1500-3000 consists of googlers researching Cuba-related topics who stumble there by accident and stay "0" seconds. Who are they kidding?

You are correct as always Manuel, just went there, the place is a ghost town, almost no comments, Babalu is sinking fast
Manuel:
They have a post at Babalu, Wanted Latin American Culture Experts, written by a Robert M, not only does he say the Lost City is a fine movie...please... I'm sorry for Andy but that movie is CRAP, but he addresses the people as "COMPAÑEROS" now you tell me, what the hell is that? hurry copy it before they erase it
Vana:
An astute observation. Whom exactly is Robert Molleda (not a Cuban) addressing? What other Communist expressions are they going to adopt next? "Patria o Muerte?"
"Compañero" as used in Cuba is an elliptical expression. What it actually means is "Compañero, [let me screw you]."
Oh so he's not Cuban, do you think he knows what Compañeros means to us? if not he better find out asap, yes at the rate they are going soon they will be screaming Patria O Muerte...Scary
Yes, Vana, I am always right. Don't ever forget that when commenting here. I am the EMPEROR OF ALL BLOGS, the CZAR OF THE BLOGOSPHERE, he that knows all.
BTW, you are correct. Robert Molleda is not Cuban. He was born in Argentina, and is heir to the Peron fortune. He has a doctorate in abnormal psychology from Johns Hopkins and is currently working on a new book called, Narcissistic Pompous Asses: An Examination of Warped Psyches. I've already pre-ordered it on Amazon as I am featured prominently in it...
Cheche:
Good to see that you have rebounded from the loss of fantomas. I know how close you two were and what yeoman service he did on behalf of Babalú. Of course, you never gave him any credit, looked down on him and treated him with no respect. And yet he was one of the most reliable notches in the BUCL belt, which consists of what? Four or five holes?
I see that now you have taken it upon yourself to fill fantomas' shoes. Fantomas' avoirdupois did not allow him to see his shoes. You are more fortunate because you are closer to the ground. It's easier to be a lickspittle that way.
As the most pompous of Babalú's pompous asses, I should not be surprised if you were included in that book. I trust you did not make a mistake and order the Spanish version, because in your intellectual meanderings you never seemed to pick up the native tongue. In that sense Molleda would certainly be more of a Cuban than you.
But have I said too much? There may be those who can deduce from what I have already said who you are are. But we'll keep that a secret between us, George.
You are barking up the wrong mata. Guess again...
cheche:
If you are somebody other than George, your stylistic peccadilloes will soon betray you. There is only one other person that you could be. Besides I prefer to fence with George; the other guy has no relevancy here. So, whether George or not, George you will be for purposes of this blog.
In fact, I am renaming you cheche george.
P.S.: Don't worry about me "barking up the wrong mata." I can usually make it across any barrera.
Manuel:
Guess we must open another Madhouse, che che lover george, is becoming a candidate for it, guess he's missing massaging Ms fanta, seems he's sinking into dementia quickly
cheche george:
Being a man of limited abilities yourself and forced to ration those where they may best serve your interests, you cannot understand that someone who possesses a wider range of talents than you do, and, indeed, transcends mere talent into genius, can afford to be a spendthrift with it and still be rich.
vana:
We are dealing with a much darker and more warped personality than fantomas'. Whereas fantomas was quite full of himself and perhaps not even conscious of his inferiority or if conscious indifferent to it, cheche resents and covets my talent, as he has all but admitted here.
Resent? No. Covet? Absolutely not. On the contrary, I am saddened that you waste what talent you do have on this. You are talented, no doubt, as the pieces you have published here from your past archives attest. But your biggest talent today, I fear, is self-delusion.
Manuel:
It's quite obvious che che george appreciates your talent, otherwise why would he keep coming back here? he's trying to imitate you, as I'm sure you know, imitation is the best form of flattery, obviously he likes to flatter you.
cheche george:
I never consider my talents "wasted" when they assist in the triumph of the truth. Not unless you consider Babalú, and, by extension, the entire Cuban-American blogosphere to be irrelevant and an exercise in futility, can you think that I am wasting my talents trying to reform it. Your disdain for them would then be greater than your disappointment with me.
If the Cuban blogosphere is such a wasteland, and if I am myself wasting my talents by attending to it, then exactly what are you doing wasting your talents, such as they are, on me?
Vana:
I have noticed this phenomenon before: commenters who hate what I say but love the way I say it. Although I cannot hope to change their way of thinking, I know that their continuous exposure to my style may benefit them nonetheless by teaching them, by example, the rules of forensics and making them better representatives of their respective points of view. So, you see, even my adversaries profit by my writings while insisting that I am wasting my talents by lavishing my attention on them.
